Final Player Evals From 3 Games Last Week

These will be the final player evals from 3 games last week. The games were a 52-48 DeWitt win against Mason, a 68-40 Ypsilanti victory against Saline and a 67-55 Waterford Mott win against South Lyon.    Huhn caught my eye in the DeWitt win. I liked the way he talked and communicated defensively, especially on screens. Huhn showed that he could score off his jumper with a nice baseline pull up and a catch and shoot 3. He turned defense into offense with a steal and score. Huhn attacked the rim with a cut and earned a bucket off of it.     Greathouse is a talented guard that was at his best when he went downhill with the ball. He was fouled on an aggressive dribble drive on a straight line to the rim. Greathouse connected on the free throws. He also drew a foul and connected on 1 of 2 from the stripe when he used a ball fake and take to the rim. Greathouse also buried a catch and shoot wing 3.     Stephens was very solid in Waterford Mott's win last week. He really showed off his ability to play a power game and physically earn good looks and buckets by the rim. Stephens had 2 first half offensive rebound and put back buckets. He had at least 1 more put back in the second half. Stephens did a nice job keeping the offensive rebounds high and going right back up with it. His highlight may have come off a baseline catch when he took 1 big aggressive step to the rim and scored.     Parikh isn't the biggest guard, but he can bring a large game. He's quick with the ball in his hands and can make the defense adjust to his speed. This included blow by speed to the rim and a nice righty finish. Parikh also showed that he can be a threat from behind the arc when he buried a catch and shoot corner 3.     Samuelson had a really nice night in the win against Saline. If this young man shoots like he did in this game consistently, Ypsilanti Lincoln could be very tough to stop offensively. He was absolutely lights out from behind the arc and was particularly effective off the catch and shoot. Samuelson stayed pass ready and had smooth footwork on the catch.     Ort was yet another Waterford Mott player that was at his best attacking north-south whether it be off the bounce, filling a wing in transition or cutting at the rim. He was a solid finisher in the open floor, doing a nice job finding and filling space. Ort had a nice bucket when he caught a feed on the block and scored through contact.     Dowdy is a must see in person prospect. He's big, strong and versatile for his stature. Dowdy showed that he can be physical in the paint, but also step out on the perimeter like a high level guard. He can work off the bounce which he did with a baseline take and score. Dowdy is also a willing and able perimeter passer.     Manning came off the bench for DeWitt and I really liked the way that he impacted the game. Most impressive to me was the way he was able to pass the ball. Manning had a couple pretty feeds to a cutters that were on time and on target. He beat the defense down the floor, caught a down court pass and turned it into a righty layup. Manning also worked with his back to the basket and finished through contact with a spin move to the lane.
