Dee-Mortensen really found his groove in their second game, going for 24 points against Curtis and showing an ability to strike from all levels. He opened up with some threes, then started to pour in midrange shots off the bounce, and then had some pretty athletic finishes at the rim. He did a great job throughout the weekend of attacking the rim, using his length to finish up high, and making some great cuts/reads on screens and defenders.

Bessinger and was able to make some tough plays inside, physical rebounds, even some blocks, but his biggest game came from behind the arc against Kentwood. Even in the loss, he came up big with 18 points including a handful of 3-pointers. He was lights out from deep in the game and it really highlighted his combo of toughness and skill.

Lenberger didn't have a big opening game of the tournament, but he was a key secondary scorer in their last two games to help them bring home the championship. He's a strong kid at 6-foot-5 who won't blow you away with his speed, but utilizes fakes, timing, footwork, and strength to get to space, split defenders, and maneuver his way to the rim. He hit some big shots in the title game, finishing with 15 points.

O'Dea has a deep squad and Bristol is one of the younger guys who shows a lot of promise already. He's a big body at 6-foot-5 and looks like a kid who could throw his weight around and get to the hoop, but he also showed some efficient shot-making from the perimeter this weekend, dropping in some threes, taking advantage of space in the midrange, and showing some good patience to take good shots and not force anything up. He'll be a kid to track who's role could continue to grow this winter.

Ahrens had a huge game for the host Vikings in their opening game against West Valley. He was solid in the first half with 10 points but exploded in the third quarter with 14 of his team-high 27 points. He's an athletic wing who is vital to Curtis' game plan. He can operate along the perimeter and knock down some outside shots, but he's most impactful from the middle, hitting those short to midrange jumpers and facilitating/attacking from the heart of the defense.
