Today is National Signing Day for college football. On this day every year we release our All-Basketball Football Team. To be considered for this the player must be a ranked basketball prospect/under consideration to be ranked in hoops, but would make an outstanding football player. Quite a few of these guys will make their money at the next level on the gridiron. Here is our Defense!

DE [player_tooltip player_id='2724288' first='Nathaniel' last='Marshall'] (Fenwick)

Mashall is one of the best pass rushers in the class. The Fenwick defensive end is headed to Michigan for Football. What many don't know is he is a really solid hooper as well as a junk yard dog big man for the Friars. His elite speed and twitch will be best utilized in the Big 10 in football.

DE Iose Epenesa (Edwardsville)

Epenesa is another one of the top players in the senior class for football and is headed to Iowa. The nationally ranked five star prospect is a force as a run stopper with great use of his hands along with burst getting to the QB. We saw him last year for Edwardsville as their big man getting on the glass.

DT [player_tooltip player_id='1766478' first='Achillies' last='Anderson'] (Marist)

Anderson suffered a serious injury during the football season that might cost him his hoops season. Unfortunate because we enjoy watching him play. Junk yard dog four man that will play along the defensive line for Harvard football in college.

DT Keshaun Thomas (Quincy)

Thomas is a brute force as a power forward with broad shoulders and great strength. He fits well in our defensive scheme as an up field pass rusher.

OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1766506' first='Leshawn' last='Stowers'] (Peoria)

Stowers is committed to Miami (OH) as a top 5 senior basketball recruit. His physicality and athleticism would make him a nice fit as an outside linebacker pursuing sideline to sideline.

MLB [player_tooltip player_id='2321397' first='TJ' last='Seals'] (Kenwood)

Seals is built like a Mack truck! He would be a perfect fit in the heart of our defense stuffing the run while being able to cover the middle vs the pass.

OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1766462' first='Zerrick' last='Johnson'] (St. Laurence)

Johnson is a strong and physical two guard that we feel has a lot of tools that translate to a big time outside linebacker. Can really run and would be a knockout tackler.

CB [player_tooltip player_id='1285486' first='Tristian' last='Ford'] (Chi-Prep)

Ford is a long and rangy point guard headed to Murray State, but we could see in another life him as a power 4 corner with his speed and great hands getting deflections.

CB [player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] (Kenwood)

Cleveland is a sophomore that projects as an elite corner if he wasn't the #1 hooper in the state. Length for days, smooth athleticism, and would bring a lockdown corner to this team.

SS [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] (Warren)

The third of the Big 3 sophomores for hoops makes our team at strong safety. He is such a heady player we want him on the back end making decisions while using his strength and physicality in the run game as well.

FS Luke Melendez (Ridgewood)

Melendez had a game last year where we saw him go for nearly 40 points. He also had a four interception game as a safety this season. Easy call here for the underrated dual sport standout.
