Preseason Preview: Class 2A Preseason All-State Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are a week away from the larger classifications beginning play in Louisiana. In our effort to continue with our preseason, All-state previews, we will look at our preseason 2A All-state team. 2A has grown into a large classification and there are plenty of guys to choose from. With that said, we narrowed our list down to ten worthy members. I think these young men are some of the best in 2A and can hold their own with other classifications.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1st Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2408142' first='Anthony' last='Berry'] (5'10" | 2025 | Pickering)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1674382' first='Hayden' last='Brister'] (6'0" | 2025 | Rosepine)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2421118' first='Elijah' last='Haven'] (6'5" | 2027 | Dunham)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2316989' first='Tyrone' last='Jamison'] (6'2" | 2027 | Calvary Baptist)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1225931' first='Randy' last='Livingston Jr'] (6'2" | 2026 | Newman)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Class 2A 1st team is a highly talented group. Their basketball acumen shows in their play. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2408142' first='Anthony' last='Berry']</strong> (aka AJ) is one of the best small guards in the state. He is a lead guard who can score, pass, and rebound like he is a taller guard. Forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2421118' first='Elijah' last='Haven']</strong> is also a quarterback at Dunham. He is a three level scorer with a high basketball IQ. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2316989' first='Tyrone' last='Jamison']</strong> will get a chance to play bot guard positions this season. The top player in the 2027 class can hurt teams from all levels of the floor. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1225931' first='Randy' last='Livingston Jr']</strong> gained a ton of confidence playing this summer. He will be looking to carry that over trying to help Newman repeat as a state champion. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1674382' first='Hayden' last='Brister']</strong> is a lead guard who plays with passion and flash. He can shoot it at a high from three. <strong>Justin Brinson</strong> is a guard in that same mode. He knows how to get to the rim and he can stretch the floor from deep. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2302363' first='Sharmal' last='Booker']</strong> knows how to make teams pay from three. His ball-handling has improved to where he is an offensive threat and not just a sport up shooter. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1492966' first='Lantavious' last='Murphy']</strong> is the best all-around basketball player in the state. He fills the stat sheet night in, night out. Murphy is like a Swiss Army knife. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2401995' first='Jomello' last='McDonald']</strong> can score from the perimeter and with his back to the basket. He has the ability to take over games just by rebounding and handling business in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>November 18th begins the excitement.
