Expert Analysis
Devontae Cobb | Prep Hoops Scout
Livingston is a college-ready floor general who’s physically mature, mentally sharp, and tactically polished. His IQ is off the charts, constantly orchestrating spacing, action, and decisions both on and off the ball. Livingston showcased tremendous leadership as he saw the game ahead of time, instructing teammates with vocal commands of when and where to spread the court, cut, or set a screen for himself or others. He made the game look easier than ever, everything seemed to come naturally and within the flow of the game for him, showing a next level feel for things. The highlight of the weekend belonged to him, a filthy pump fake at the perimeter into an explosive drive and a posterizing tomahawk slam on a rotating defender who jumped too late. From scoring to leadership to anticipation, Livingston checks every box.

RJ Livingston played at his own pace at all times, dictating tempo and creating shots within the flow of the game. An elite bucket-getter with killer scoring instincts, Livingston’s pull-up jumper was easy, very effortless, calm, smooth, and completely under control. His delayed between-the-legs dribbles kept defenders off balance with their unpredictability. Livingston also displayed a go-to punch-dribble stop-and-pop from mid-range. He was equally effective pulling up going right or left and mastered the art of playing off two feet, using it like a cheat code to control balance, absorb contact, and get clean looks.

Livingston displayed incredible shooting touch from beyond the arc. Whether within the flow of the offense or in isolation late in the shot clock, every jumper came off his hands with confidence and purity. He had a quick trigger, a high release, and elite shot versatility, knocking down contested jumpers, pull-ups off the bounce, and deep catch-and-shoot threes without hesitation. All he needed was a slight bit of space, and he let it fly with supreme touch and a beautifully arcing shot.
