His open-floor value gives him ways to contribute both with and without the ball. He can help start the action, then use his athletic ability to become a finishing option in transition. His impact on both ends adds to an intriguing profile, particularly for a player with his size, handling, shot-making, ability to defend multiple positions, and offensive responsibilities. The area that needs the most attention is his decision-making when attacking as he can drive himself into traffic, reducing his options and limiting the quality of the possession. There is clear value in his versatility however, as he brings has two-way impact ability that is seen consistently.

I have watched Anthony grow his game since all the way back to when he was in the 6th grade if I am not mistaken. He has developed into a backcourt talent who blends scoring pressure and playmaking instincts. He has offensive versatility as he can stretch the floor, punish space, attack the paint, and show touch in the in-between game. He is very good at slashing his way through the defense when the lane is there, and he makes sounds decisions by making the simple pass when help commits, and avoid turning a good advantage into a forced possession. He is really good at creating offense in different ways.

The junior wing scored 16 points in a narrow loss on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore while continuing to show his offensive upside and shot making ability. Walcott consistently created his own offense off the dribble and used his length and size effectively to shoot over defenders and score at multiple levels. A wing with good positional size, he has shown noticeable improvement as a perimeter shot maker and plays with a scorer’s mentality when the ball is in his hands.

Walcott enjoyed a breakout junior season and continued that momentum with two strong performances in Jacksonville, averaging 12.5 points over the two games. The wing has good positional size and the ability to stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting. He also showed the ability to attack closeouts and finish effectively at the rim. With his combination of size, shot-making ability, and improving offensive confidence, Walcott is a developing prospect whose trajectory is clearly trending upward.

Coming off a 25-point performance earlier in the week against fellow South Florida power St. Thomas Aquinas, Walcott carried that momentum into Saturday with a 16-point effort in another win.
