It's tough to pick any player on Reynoldsburg as they have three Division I commits and an additional player with numerous offers as well. I went with Fisher due to his scoring ability but it would be surprising if any Reynoldsburg player separates themselves from the group. I could see a scenario where three or four Reynoldsburg players make the all state team at the end of the year if they play up to their potential. No Ohio Bobcat commit has won since 1998 but twice have future Bobcats won the Mr Basketball award.

Delaware Hayes went to the Division I state title game last season and if they are going to return to that stage, Vanderwalker will need to have a monster senior season. The Kent State commit has the size and skill to put up huge numbers and he's surrounded by enough talent to continue to be one of the top teams in Columbus. In 2020 a forward from Columbus committed to Kent State won Mr Basketball, could Vanderwalker follow in VonCameron Davis' footsteps?

Another Kent State commit, I think Woidke could be a sleeper player to contend for the award. One of the top guards in northeast Ohio, Woidke and Saint Ignatius are coming off a Division I state title. It'll be interesting to see which player from the Wildcats becomes their go to player, I'm expecting Woidke and [player_tooltip player_id='1432034' first='Damon' last='Friery'] to split time as the leading scorer throughout the season.

Centerville had a Mr Basketball winner in 2022 and Greenberg is now set to lead the team with the Elks graduating a pair of Division I commits from the 2024 class. If Centerville continues to run the GWOC, I could see Greenberg being a first team all state performer and potentially a finalist for Mr Basketball.

As long as Kwasniak stays healthy, he'll shatter the career 3-point record in Ohio. He should also be one of the leading scorers in Ohio just like he was last season. With another huge scoring season, Kwasniak could separate himself by leading Cornerstone Christian to wins in some of their marquee regular season contests.

It's probably a year early for Smith to win the award, but if he takes another leap and Upper Arlington surprise people in their tough OCC Division, I could see the future Ohio State commit in the mix for this award. It's always tough for a non-senior to win the award but three winners since 2009 that were Juniors like Smith. It'll be very interesting to see which players from Columbus end up being finalists for the Mr Basketball Award because there are a lot of strong options to choose from.

Lutheran East had a big almost win the award last year as Jesse McCulloch was a strong candidate. The Falcons lose a ton of seniors but bring in Crumble back after he spent his freshman year with the Falcons. Lutheran East has been a mainstay in the state tournament and if Crumble can help lead a young Falcons squad back to Dayton, he'll have a case to be a finalist for the award.
