There's a ton of talent to be found in the DMV area each season and today we would like to highlight some of the top available 2025 shooters in the area. Inclusion on this list doesn't mean that shooting is all this prospect is capable of, but it's the marquee skill that college coaches are looking for at this point in the recruitment calendar. Let's dive in!

-Liked Rowles both in his HS context as more of a scorer and in his AAU context that saw him used primarily as a shooter. With a dependable midrange jumpshot that he can get into off the bounce or off the catch, Rowles has worked to extend his range out several feet beyond the arc to become a more formidable weapon. Will be interesting to see how his role and usage changes this season for a good Bowie team that graduated several rotation pieces

-Hemann knows his role and plays it to perfection, providing some crucial floor-spacing for a veteran Bullis team hungry to keep their winning momentum going this year with several national opponents on the schedule. Hemann's footwork coming off of pindowns and staggers allows him to get 10 toes facing the rim before catching the ball and letting one go from beyond the arc. His size allows him an extra second or two of time to get off a look before the contest can affect his shot and his team will look for him even more in the halfcourt with 3 starters heading off to college. His ability to make plays off the bounce, step into midrange jumpers, and defend at the other end will be critical to his performance in his final season in blue and yellow.

-Blair stands out as a movement shooter that can generate his own space without over-dribbling or really needing a ball screen. His dribble combos into a shot are simple 1 pound dribble, one cross to see if the defense will bite, and 1 last dribble away from the defense to get him into his shot. He takes the right looks without hesitating but still sees the floor well-- especially coming off of screens. Blair uses that scoring gravity well to mix in paint touches and midrange pull-ups for high-percentage looks at the rim, too.

-The senior sniper has been a consistent threat from beyond the arc in individual and team settings throughout the past 18 months. Sardo hits shots off of movement, utilizes the pump fake to hit 1-dribble pull-ups, and has tightened his handle to get into his shooting motion more quickly. As a leader for a new look SSFS team with a more loaded schedule, I expect more colleges to get involved as they see his ability to stretch the floor without needing actions run for him.

-Newman's developmental arc has been intriguing to track over his career. Starting first as a pure PG, then adding in consistent 3 point shooting that put him in more of a shooting specialist role, to a versatile senior PG that can do a little bit of everything in an expanded role with his new team. Newman can hit shots off of sidesteps or stepbacks from the top of the key or drill looks from the wings coming off of different types of movement. Can't wait to see what more he's added to his game as this offseason winds to a close.

-A definite candidate to make a significant leap in our next set of updated rankings, Lewis finished with an efficient pair of outings with 9p 4a 3r 2s vs Prestige and 18p 5r 3a 1s vs Golden State Prep. A quick guard that gets into gaps well off the bounce and into a pull-up from the elbows, Lewis does a good job of taking what the defense gives him and doesn't force the action. It's not often that you see shooting PGs that can drill the corner 3 just as comfortably as a floater off of two feet amongst the trees in the paint, but Lewis can be counted on for efficient double-digit numbers that come within the flow of the offense
