is an elite shooter and had a big second half for Sandy Springs. Darrion set Sandy Springs school single-season record last year for most made 3s. He is one of the best shooters in the DMV and after struggling early he showed that later in the game. Darrion used his shot fake to get guys in the air well. Darrion hit 4 second-half threes and hit 5 total to finish with 16 points.

-The senior sniper has been a consistent threat from beyond the arc in individual and team settings throughout the past 18 months. Sardo hits shots off of movement, utilizes the pump fake to hit 1-dribble pull-ups, and has tightened his handle to get into his shooting motion more quickly. As a leader for a new look SSFS team with a more loaded schedule, I expect more colleges to get involved as they see his ability to stretch the floor without needing actions run for him.

-Sardo impressed as the best shooter that we saw today, routinely hitting 2 or 3 triples each game while also finding teammates with the extra pass and coming up with rebounds in traffic. He no longer has to back down or get the defender on his hip to read the defense because his handle has improved as has his decision-making ability. If he can add in a more explosive change of direction and vertical pop to his game, I’d expect his recruitment to pick up as a versatile CG that can be trusted on and off the ball.

-Stepped into his shots with confidence and hit nothing but the dead center of the rim on his makes. Sardo was very efficient getting to his spots and wasn’t sped up by ball pressure and traps, although the handle needs to improve to allow him to squeeze through tighter gaps in the defense vs retreat dribbling or dribbling to space to create a better passing window. Competes defensively, understands positioning and angles defensively, and will contest the shot without fouling
