On the first weekend of October, we took a trip to the RCS Sports Super 16 taking place at The Den facility in Cypress, Texas. Several teams were put on high-level stages against each other to decide who the better squad was, and Sunday was the final chapter in this tournament. The "Super 16" bracket division culminated with the Atascocita Eagles winning their 3rd championship in 4 years. Let's take a look at some key players who caught my eye on Sunday morning/afternoon.

Lowe was perhaps the best floor general on the court during the Sunday afternoon slate of games. Eian ran the offense with ease and controlled the tempo of the contest masterfully to help the Marshall Buffs come away with a key bracket win over Shadow Creek. He was engaged in full lockdown mode on defense, helping to shut down one of the highest ranked recruits coming out of Houston in Mike Collins and came away with several key transition assists off steals. Lowe had several "thread the needle" passes that led to momentum-swinging buckets for his squad and the audience couldn't have asked for a better performance from this high-level prospect.

The best phrase to use to describe Zayson's game would be "shooters gonna shoot". Salanoa possesses deadly marksmanship from behind the three-point line and was absolutely critical in a semifinal matchup against Seven Lakes for the Eagles. He knocked down 3-4 three pointers in a matter of a couple minutes and absolutely had the green light for Atascocita. The best part about Salanoa's game is that this is not the only way he can make an impact on the floor. He battles hard on the boards, using his 6'4 frame well and he can also cut to the basket with deceptive speed. I predict that he will be one of the biggest stock risers in the entire Greater Houston area this year and will continue his hot shooting game after game.

Aidan was one of the biggest factors in Barbers Hill's close loss to CE King on Sunday afternoon. Williams showed dynamic ability to score the basketball and was active from all three levels. He grabbed rebounds on both ends, made hustle plays and kept teammates involved. He will look to play a big role for the Eagles this year, forming a duo in the post with 6'7 [player_tooltip player_id='2077351' first='Wesley' last='Wake'] and shutting down opponents under the basket. Ace has greatly risen his stock over the past few years and will continue to improve this upcoming 2025 season.

Dorian was one of the most versatile players in attendance on Sunday, helping Ridge Point to a big win over Summer Creek in the first game of the day. Hayes showed ability to beat the defense from all levels of the floor driving to the basket, pulling up from midrange, and shooting at an efficient clip from three-point range. He is also effective as a playmaker, setting up teammates for easy baskets and making things happen on both sides of the ball. Playing without big man [player_tooltip player_id='2554866' first='Logan' last='Menefee'] this weekend, Dorian had to step up his game another level and he definitely showed up in the spotlight.

[player_tooltip player_id='1778906' first='Adam' last='Boyd'] was the best defensive player in attendance Sunday for the Super 16 bracket play. He had several key possessions where he kept the other team's best player in check and got a big time stop for his squad to even the momentum. When he is on the court, Adam is the hustle player that every coach wishes he had as he is not afraid to crash the defensive glass, dive for loose balls, and play aggressive perimeter defense. Boyd also knocked down several key long-range jumpers and cashed in at the charity stripe as well. He will play a big-time role this year as Atascocita's glue guy and will look to further his stock this school season.
