It is officially rankings update time here at the Pope Hoops Indiana headquarters. On Monday we released our updated and expanded Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings featuring our Top 50 prospects along with a loaded Watch List of over 300 more players. In total, we added 118 new names to this rankings update from what we previously had released. We are really proud of the work that went into making that happen. Now, we will spend the week diving deeper into the rankings with positional breakdowns, stock-risers, new names, and a look at some of the names to know on the Watch List. Here are six of the hardest "cuts" we had to make before finalizing our Top 50. As we continue to expand our rankings we expect to see these prospects included.

Anytime a player is able to crack the varsity roster at a place like Cathedral as a freshman you have to pay close attention to them as a prospect. Daniels appeared in 19 games and will once again factor into a backcourt that could be even more loaded this season. The 5'9" dynamic point guard is ultra-quick with the ball in his hands and can get penetration consistently from the perimeter. He definitely has a strong case to be inside of our Top 50, but we just need to see him play a bit more.

For whatever it is worth, King was our very last "cut" when getting down to our expanded Top 50 prospect rankings. That is a little behind the curtain information. The 6'5" forward really impressed us the couple of times we saw him play up in Fort Wayne over the summer at GRBA events and then again at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. His impressive combination of size, physical strength, and vertical athleticism makes him a highly projectable prospect. After being homeschooled as a freshman he will now attend Garrett High School.

Another standout prospect in southern Indiana, Lang helped lead Trinity Lutheran to a Class 1A Sectional Championship as a freshman while averaging an impressive 15.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. The 6'1" guard also shot 53-143 (37.1%) from three-point range. Lang was one of the top scorers in the freshman class last season and has proven himself among the best shooters in his class. That level of production alone made it tough to keep him out of the Top 50. We definitely are excited to continue evaluating him further.

One of the more productive freshmen in southern Indiana, Lindemann averaged 9.4 points per game for Corydon Central High School last season. His 51-132 (38.6%) three-point shooting was most impressive and is what makes him most intriguing as a prospect. The 5'11" guard is an outstanding shooter that has proven at the varsity level to be able to play on or off of the ball. We will be following his sophomore season closely.

Modesitt got valuable varsity experience in the rotation for West Lafayette High School as a freshman for a Sectional championship team and should step into an even larger role as a sophomore. The 6'2" guard is an athletic driver and finisher at the rim. His two-way ability on the perimeter makes him an impressive prospect to keep an eye on over the next handful of years.

We were very impressed with Weber at week one of the Metro Indy Basketball Fall League. That was our first real opportunity to see him play so we are still building a more thorough evaluation, but it is clear that the 6'5" forward has impressive upside. He is versatile on the offensive end of the floor and fluidity athletic for his size. Don't be surprised if he is able to crack the rotation sooner rather than later at Hamilton Southeastern High School.
