Andino, a newcomer in our most recent rankings update, should be one of the better playmakers in the MIAA this winter. A long and lean 6'1" guard, Andino is capable of making plays as a scorer or creator in the half court. He shows the ability to run an offense, does a nice job of making decisions out of ball screen actions, and is slippery off the bounce in the paint. He has a quick first step, some nice burst in the open floor, and the ability to finish with length at the rim. He doesn't cause the ball to stick, does a good job of pitching it ahead in transition, and does a good job of limiting his turnovers. He should have the ball in his hands a lot this winter at Methuen and could be among the states top assist men.

Hidalgo followed up a strong junior season with some impressive performances this summer at some of New England's top showcase events. A capable scorer, Hidalgo is at his best when he's creating with the ball in his hands. Lightning quick in transition, he does a great job of turning defense into quick offense, showing a good understanding of when to push the pace with the pass and the dribble. In the half court, he does a great job of beating the initial defender off the bounce and making good decisions in the paint. He's a consistent shooter from behind the arc, crafty in tight spaces with his handle, and can pass on the move with either hand. He should lead the charge this winter at South Portland and has the chance to prove he's the top lead guard in the MPA.

Duffaut, a capable combo guard out of Raymond, showed his ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor this summer. A strong downhill driver, Duffaut is capable of finishing plays as both a scorer and setup man. He has a terrific first step and some impressive athleticism off the bounce, allowing him to get into the paint and creating scoring opportunities in abundance. His defensive intensity allows him to generate a high rate of steals and deflections, many of which he turns into transition offense. He's a good ball handler that knows when to hunt his offense and when to create for others. He'll have a chance to prove himself this winter and could come out of his senior season as an all-state selection in the NHIAA.

Aguek, a budding star at South Burlington, was another standout this summer who showcased an impressive offensive arsenal. A quick twitch athlete, Aguek is terrific in the open floor when he can push the pace and get downhill off the dribble. He has a great handle, does a good job of changing direction and speed, and gets into the teeth of the defense at will. He's a creative guard that does a good job of getting into the aint and spraying it out to shooters, knows how to read defenses in ball screens, and quickly gets the ball from one side of the floor to the other. He's also a capable scorer and multi-positional defender that does a good job of turning defense into transition offense. He'll be a key piece to the puzzle at South Burlington this winter and has a chance to be among the top guards in the VPA.

Hilaire, who had his coming out party as a junior at Tolman, is primed to make another jump this winter as an on the floor leader. One of the states quickest guards, Hilaire does a terrific job of getting into the paint and finding teammates in scoring spots. He can play at different speeds, stops and changes direction on a dime, and does a great job of turning the corner in ball screens. He's a capable scorer that can get it done at all three levels and is a surprisingly efficient paint scorer. He's lightning quick in transition, knows when to pitch the ball ahead to shooters, and can make every pass in the book off the bounce. He'll have the keys to the offense this winter and should be among the top playmakers in the RIIL.
