High School Spotlight: Portage Indians

The season is still a month away, but with practices happening, it is the perfect time to start previewing the season. In this series, we will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and notable games for the upcoming season. The 6'6 forward is coming off a very strong summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] after having a lowkey breakout season as a junior for Portage. Wellman is a very productive player when on the floor, has a strong frame, versatile, plays with a high motor, attacks closeouts, and is capable three point shooter. He brings back 13.5 points a game from a season ago and will be looking to have an even stronger last go around for the Indians. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='1297027' first='Garrett' last='Clark']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jeremiah-bellamy/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There could have a been a few players that could have been placed on this part of Portage Indians High School Spotlight but I went with one of the senior leaders of this squad, [player_tooltip player_id='1297027' first='Garrett' last='Clark']. Clark has been on a steady rise since last season and brings back 9.7 points and over 4.0 assists and rebounds from his junior year. The 6'4 shooting guard can light it up behind the arc at a consistent rate and that type of production led him to committing to Air Force.
