This article is a continuation of the last GASO Fall Tour article titled "Sunday Guards Who Impressed". The players we will look at in this article may not have filled up the scoring column all the way, but they definitely made key plays and raised their stock overall with impressive IQ and just good overall basketball. Let's look at some underrated standouts from Sunday's slate of games.

Elijah was a huge factor for Katy Jordan in their victory over Cypress Creek by a margin of 54-46. Despite not playing big minutes, Black showcased his versatility on both ends of the court playing defense in key moments and using his quickness and peripheral vision to play passing lanes and get steals that led to transition fastbreak points. Elijah can beat the defense from all three levels, including hitting multiple midrange shots to maintain the lead and dishing to teammates in corners and on the three-point line. He had a great summer with Fam Elite 17u and looks to continue his momentum for Jordan into this season.

Isaac heated up big time in the second half of Cy Ranch's loss to Lufkin during Sunday afternoon. Saavedra hit several deep range bombs and made some tough, contested shots at the rim, plus the trip to the foul stripe. Isaac uses quick and shifty moves with the basketball to get to his spots for open shots and can reset the offense with precise ballhandling and good court awareness. He will be important in the backcourt for Cypress Ranch to stay near the top of district this season.

Dyllan was a big-time backcourt mastermind during Friendswood's early morning loss against the Summer Creek Bulldogs. Baker had several important cuts to the basket where he made some critical layups for two-point buckets to help his team stay in the game and he also knew when to reset the offense and find his squad wide open for a quick swing pass and knockdown jumper. Baker has underrated combo guard ability and a smooth release on his floater/layups at the rim as well as being able to pull up in the midrange and occasionally shoot the long ball when needed. If this game was any indication, his stock should be rising big time come this varsity year for Friendswood as one of the senior leaders.

Jackson was a force to be reckoned with playing the wing spot in Crosby's blowout win over Klein Cain by a score of 63-43. He secured clutch rebounds, locked down the paint/perimeter and was a key difference maker on offense getting to the rim at will and finishing through contact. Phillip also had several assists off the pick and roll as both the screener and the ballhandler, as well as scoring off some isolation perimeter buckets and post ups. This was my second time getting to watch Jackson play and he is a big factor for this Crosby team as an offensive leader and one of the spearheads of the defense.
