October 6 The Elite 8 Fall Preview Classic was held at Monterey Trail High School in Sacramento, CA. One of the top Fall Ball events in the Sacramento Area. PH NorCal gets a look at some of the teams and talent in the area before the real season begins. Here's our top 2025 prospects from this event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574722' first='Gavin' last='Sykes'] 6'4 Guard Modesto Christian: He's primed to lead this team on another championship run this season. Sykes a top prospect with multiple DI offers holds a top 5 ranking our PH NorCal Rankings. He was named CO-MVP after putting together a dominate performance on the day. He was consistent in his shot making. He controlled the tempo up top with good decision making, and passing, making it a point to involve others. He'll get a bucket when the team needs one.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384642' first='Sir' last='Marius Jones'] 6'4 Guard Sacramento HS: He had to put points on the board for his team at this event. It was good to see him be more assertive in the scoring department. With ball in hand he's more than capable of facilitating the offense up top. During one stretch of a game he hit 3-3's in a row to finish with 5 or 6 for the game. He has the body and hang time to convert and 1 buckets inside. He's one of our top scoring guard in NorCal. He finished with 33pts. Multiple DI offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384815' first='Jaylen' last='Valdez'] 6'3 Guard Destiny Christian (Capital Christian) He's an experienced guard, has that competitive edge to his game. He's a versatile guard who can handle, pass, and make good decisions with the ball. He can get aggressive and go make tough buckets on the drive, he hits the mid-range jumpers off the dribble from different angles, he'll drop a 3 in rhythm. He can get you a bucket when the games on the line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384450' first='Darrion' last='Lilly'] 6'5 Forward Weston Ranch: He's looking strong, and fit. His body is shaping up and he's faster running up and down the court to get transition buckets. His handles, and balance seems to have improved as he took several defenders off the dribble with a few moves to finish strong at the rim playing through contact. His points and rebounding numbers should tick up this season making him a double, double guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384824' first='Derron' last='White'] 5'11 PG Monterey Trail: White is one of the top point guards in the Sacramento Area. He's more of the pass first type of point guard with experience to run the team up top making good decisions. His quick handles, and attack off the dribble allows him to penetrate the paint for assists, and points. He's taking and making good shots, his point production will probably go up the is season. He has the foot speed to stay on ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1983547' first='Chad' last='Johnson'] 6'4 Guard Sheldon: He's one of the rising prospects in the Sacramento Area. Standing 6'4 with quality handles, good passing, and play making ability. He's creating shots for himself and others. He's been leading this team and playing good basketball for a while now. He's scoring in different ways, dropping long range 3's, hitting paint jumpers, and finishing strong at the rim. He has lengthy arms to take up passing lanes, help rebound. College coaches are starting to take notice, consistency will be key.

[player_tooltip player_id='2080074' first='Ry' last='Atkins'] 6'6 Forward, Modesto Christian: He looks stronger and more willing to mix it up inside. He had good activity inside going after rebounds on both ends, he used his length to defend, and change a few shots. He has steadily improved his offensive skills, he's cutting/slashing and finishing around the rim taking the hit. He'll put up 3's in the corners, he had couple drop for him. He's an excellent court runner who hustle up court. He's screening, moving and making good passes around the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2048161' first='Rashawn' last='Inglemon'] 6'0 Combo Guard, Monterey Trail: He's a fast, quick, and shifty guard who can get it going at any time during the game. He can play both guard positions. His handles, and speed allows him to generate buckets in different ways. He's got the stop on the dime jumper he can hit in the paint and from mid-range, he'll drop open 3's. He can move over to run point in the crunch. He has the speed to stick to ball handlers

[player_tooltip player_id='2048279' first='Sebastian' last='James'] 6'6 Forward/Wing Sheldon: The long wing prospect has continued to be a complimentary prospect working a bit under the radar, but continues to be a contributor. He's usually on the finishing end to get the bucket, either running to fill lanes in transition, or making cuts to the basket, he's a finisher. He has a good shot to hit short jumpers from mid-range and along the baseline, he'll make 3's. He's long needs to get stronger but does help rebound. His lengthy arms and movement defending on the perimeter were noted.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573486' first='Elijah' last='Sykes'] 5'10 Guard, Sheldon: He's still finding his way after transferring in to Sheldon. He'll be a productive guard who can run point, or put points on the board working off ball when he settles in and plays the way he's capable. He averaged 17pts a game last season. He's a tough minded competitor who can run the team and get points in a variety of ways. He has leverage, and foot speed to defend.
