Expert Analysis
Britt Wright | Prep Hoops Scout
Sykes had his struggles early on after transferring into Sheldon. Like any good player he adjusted, and showed his true value as a PG helping the Huskies compete at a high level in the Sacramento Area. He’s a PG with quality handles, vision and passing for the position. He can break down defenders, get into the paint, get the assist. He can hit 3’s, mid-range jumpers, and floaters. He can be pesky of defense.

A solid point guard who plays physical. He goes hard into the paint using his body and leverage. He sees the floor as well as any guard when pushing in transition. He has a pull-up off the dribble, makes his free throws. He’s probably a pass guard, he can get a bucket on the drive when he makes up his mind. He does a good job running the team.

He’s a solid under 6’0 point guard, showing he can run the offense in half-court sets. He handles ball pressure, using his thick body and handles to bring the ball up court. He can penetrate the paint with a nice crossover dribble, then dish to shooters, or find others moving to the basket.
