Class 2A Stars to Watch (Part 2)

Hoefert was a reliable role player as a sophomore for the state champion Lions, stepped into a secondary scoring role as a junior, and should step into a starring role as a senior. He has fantastic size on the wing at 6-8/6-9, with long arms and a pure stroke from 3-point range, and he has improved his ball-handling and shot creation. He averaged 12.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game as a junior, and could see those numbers skyrocket as a senior.     Hoogeveen was one of the best players in 2A last season, averaging 16.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 steals on 47-40-62 shooting splits for a team that spent a good chunk of the year ranked #1 in the class. He's a tough, athletic, quick guard who can take over games as a scorer, facilitator, or defender.     Lambert is a long, high IQ wing who impacts the game on both ends of the floor with his movement and length. He shoots it at an extremely high level off the catch, knocking down 44.3% of his 3-point attempts as a junior while also showing the ability to attack the rim against hard closeouts. He's really good on the glass from his wing spot, averaging 7.4 rebounds a game, and he does a nice job getting up into passing lanes, coming away with a team-high 1.8 steals per game last season.     Stecker is one of the top returning scorers in the state, regardless of class, after putting up 23.5 points a game last season. He's an athletic forward who is at his best when he's operating around the rim, but he's a good enough shooter that it needs to at least be respected. He's a really good rebounder on both ends of the floor, averaging 9 a game, and is a good enough ball-handler to lead the break after pulling down a defensive board.     Bingham was fantastic as a freshman for the Trojans, averaging 20.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 steals a game. He's a really athletic, physical wing who can bully his way to the rim or knock down shots from the mid-range routinely. He finishes through contact well and is a physically advanced wing who does a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor.     Badding is an elite shooter, shooting just under 46% from behind the arc as a sophomore for the Knights. He made his name as an off-ball guard, moving without the ball and shooting it off the catch, but he has really improved over the last year as an on-ball guard as well, creating shots for himself and his teammates effectively. His shooting is, and probably always will be, his greatest asset, but the rest of his all-around skill set is developing nicely. He averaged a team-high 13.0 points on 49-46-81 shooting splits.     A skilled, fearless guard who shines in big moments, Lovely was fantastic at the 2A state tournament in March and will step into a starring role for the Cardinals this winter. He handles the ball really well, has great vision, and he shoots it extremely well off both the dribble and the catch.     Schauf is similar to the aforementioned Lambert, a long, lanky, and skilled wing who shoots it well from 3-point range and impacts the game on the defensive end with his length. He averaged 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals a game as a sophomore while posting 46-39-80 shooting splits.
