October 18-20 I attended the annual Border League in Nevada located at various gyms around the city. I watched three days full of action-packed games versus some top prep and AIA teams from around the country.

Here are some Junior Guard Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1595670' first='Ikenna' last='Alozie'] Dream City Christian

A true two-way combo guard who makes it look easy in stretches. He is a tough on-ball defender and top notch athlete. He collects steals in bunches, blocks shots off the glass or an opposing shooter and rebounds at a high level on the norm. He scores with high level dunks, strong takes to the basket with next level body control, mid-range pull-ups with great elevation and threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464982' first='Miles' last='Sadler'] Bella Vista Prep CIA NIKE

One of the top pure point guards in the West. His pace and yo-yo handle combined with his speed in the open court and advanced court vision is hard to handle. There are not many better in the West guiding an offense and he is starting to score the ball more and more. He showed off his improved skill as he rattled off threes one by one with range. He is also quick in the passing lanes to collect steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2211004' first='Rokiem' last='Green'] Bella Vista Prep CIA NIKE

A big time glue guy is your classic 3 and D type. He is super active and always seems to be around the ball with so many steals and deflections. He will score with catch threes, mid-range pull-ups and he will hesitate and get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='994689' first='Noah' last='George'] Bella Vista Prep CIA NIKE

A good sized combo guard who plays on or off the ball. He is good defensively and will collect steals and score on layups. He gets on the glass and will rip some pockets with his tough on-ball defense. He can hit the three and he made two clutch free throws to essentially ice the game in their win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1729827' first='Josh' last='Powell'] Skyline Prep

A thicker scoring guard with decent size is very skilled. He had a big game versus Colorado prep with catch threes, mid-range pull-ups, which is easily his sweet spot, and straight line drives. He will sit down and defend with that sturdy frame of his.

[player_tooltip player_id='1659512' first='Ian' last='Parham'] Skyline Prep

A bigger guard who plays both guard positions well. He handles most of their PG duties and will score with pull-ups from mid-range and will hit the occasional three. He defends and makes plays as a point guard type. He is steadily showing more skill with his shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323296' first='Matt' last='Delgado'] Boulder Creek (Pictured)

A long guard is very fast on the break and will score with rip thrus with long strides, step thru's, euros, hesitation dribbles and post ups. He is also getting on the glass and scoring on put backs. He will drive and kick it to a shooter and he actually hit a three at the buzzer to win it their last game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1676630' first='Kristo' last='Jackson'] San Tan Charter

A two-way defensive shooting guard is very physical and athletic. He scores getting downhill, he is a stud in transition and will hit the catch three. He dunks the ball easily and looked like he was having fun out there in a big win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591738' first='Jeehzus' last='Pagan'] Boulder Creek

A pure point guard moves the ball and he will give up a good shot for a great shot. His defense is tougher with steals, blocks and he boxes out well for a guard and gets many out of area balls. He will shoot it from the perimeter, score with quick drives and take charges on D.

[player_tooltip player_id='2045282' first='Landon' last='Jones'] Ironwood

A shooting guard with some size and length. He was a little volume in this game but he has a pretty stroke from the three point line and will get hot quickly and rattle them off. He has long arms and uses it in the passing lanes and to rebound.
