The new high school basketball season is creeping closer as the first week of October is here. The 2027 class is primed to make its impact on the floor this season, especially the unranked prospects. Here are the 2027 unranked prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2568645' first='Austin' last='Kolakowski'], 6'0 SG/PG Delbarton

Kolakowski had a solid debut season for the Green Wave and should take a step up in 2024-25. The 6'0 guard has a good first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. Kolakowski can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated passer. Kolakowski will have more touches on the offensive end this season, which could lead to a breakout season for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2573746' first='Brandon' last='Johnson'], 6'3 SG/SF Watchung Hills

Johnson has the ability to play either on the wing or in the backcourt, which makes him an intriguing prospect to watch. The 6'3 wing has a solid handle, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor and is unafraid of drawing contact. Johnson uses his size to see over his defender and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He works for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Johnson's ability to play on the wing and the backcourt will help his development over the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2535786' first='Jorge' last='Castro'], 5'8 SG Dover

Castro might be undersized to play off the ball, but that won't stop him from making plays this season. The 5'8 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get into the paint and finish around the basket. Castro can also score in the mid-range and has a nice release on his jumper. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated defender. Castro should have the ball in his hands more this season, which will help his game throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2616433' first='Aseem' last='Kharshikar'], 6'2 PG/SG South Brunswick

Kharshikar is an intriguing guard to watch in the class as he has the potential to play either guard spot. The 6'2 guard knows how to get into the lane off the bounce and finishes nicely around the basket. Kharshikar moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He plays with good anticipation on the defensive end and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Kharshikar's ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2619576' first='Logan' last='Cleveland'], 6'4 PF Manasquan

Cleveland has the potential to break out as he gets more touches in the paint. The 6'4 forward knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Cleveland can also pass out of the post and rarely drops passes that are thrown to him. He works for rebounds on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Cleveland is a hard-working forward prospect who should get more touches as the season progresses.
