Varsity tryouts are right around the corner with November being a couple of days away. The 2027 class is primed to make an impact on the hardwood this season, especially in the Non-Public divisions. Here are the 2027 unranked Non-Public prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2473558' first='Gilbert' last='Baez-Rodriguez'], 6'5 CG St. Benedict's

Baez-Rodriguez transferred into the Garden State from Monsignor Scanlan and is set to make an immediate impact. The 6'5 guard has a good first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Baez-Rodriguez can see over his defender and rises up nicely on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and moves well without the ball in his hands. Baez-Rodriguez is fresh off a strong weekend at Pango's East Frosh/Soph Camp and is looking to bring it over into the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2568645' first='Austin' last='Kolakowski'], 6'0 SG/PG Delbarton

Kolakowski is set to have more looks this season, which will help his game in a big way. The 6'0 guard attacks the basket with a purpose and finishes strong around the rim. Kolakowski can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands and is a tough on-ball defender. Kolakowski is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to make plays with the ball in his hands will help his stock over the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628249' first='Chase' last='Spencer'], 6'0 PG/SG Saddle River Day

Spencer had a solid debut varsity season for the Rebels and is looking to build off it in his second season. The 6'0 guard has a nice release on his jumper and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. Spencer is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is an underrated passer and slides his feet on the defensive end. Spencer is a skilled guard prospect who will be one to track in Bergen County this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628251' first='Brody' last='Mauro'], 6'3 SF Ranney

Mauro also stars on the diamond for the Panthers, but that won't stop him from making plays on the hardwood. The 6'3 lefty has a good first step, which he uses to get into the paint and can finish in a number of ways around the basket. Mauro wastes little motion in his release and sets his feet before he shoots. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and works hard for rebounds. Mauro is a lanky wing prospect who should get more touches within the offense this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628253' first='Tyler' last='Hager'], 6'4 PF St. Rose

Hager should get more playing time this season, which will help his stock this season. The 6'4 forward has a good face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. Hager can also get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Hager is a physical forward prospect whose ability to make plays in the paint at both ends of the floor will help his development in a big way.
