The time has finally come as we have updated our senior class rankings in Virginia! The new rankings feature close to 40 new players, ranking 173 players in the state.

We'll take a look at some positional breakdowns in the rankings, looking at the guards, wings and forwards rankings. Here's part two of the guards, ranking the top point and combo guards in the class.

15) EJ Schneeburg | 6'2” PG | Potomac School (#42 Overall)

Schneeburg has been one of best guards in the DMV over the last few years and will be running the show for an up and coming Potomac School team that will be a tough out for anyone this year. The 6'2” guard is a consummate floor general who doesn't turn it over and makes great decisions, he can score the ball from multiple levels off the bounce, he makes shots from when he moves off the ball and he is a gritty on ball defender as well.

14) [player_tooltip player_id='2571740' first='TJ' last='Jackson'] | 6'1” PG | Oak Hill Red (#40 Overall)

Jackson is part of an Oak Hill Red team that is very talented and is a team worth college coaches checking out this year, and he's their leader as the primary ball handler, playmaker and scorer. The 6'1” guard can flat out fill it up with his ability to create space and make shots from deep, he has good burst to get downhill and is a good finisher around the rim, he gets to the line like it's his job and he is a high IQ playmaker as well.

13) [player_tooltip player_id='1339892' first='Julian' last='Rivera'] | 6'1” PG | Highland School (#35 Overall)

Rivera has been a staple at Highland School the last three years helping them emerge as one of the best teams in the state, playing a big part in their state championship as a sophomore and helping them return the game last year. While he isn't the biggest name prospect on the team he's the heart and soul of their group as he's a big time playmaker off the bounce, he's a gritty perimeter defender who guards the other team's best player, an efficient scorer and just makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.

12) [player_tooltip player_id='1494106' first='Shane' last='Lincoln'] | 6'4” CG | Bishop O'Connell (#28 Overall)

Lincoln is perhaps the most underrated and under recruited player in the DMV, and it mostly has to do with him playing with some of the best guards in the state the past few years, but there's no doubt he could be a star on almost any other team you can think of. The 6'4” combo has great size and long arms that translates well to thee next level, he is a good defender who gets deflections and can guard the ball, he can create off the bounce or move off the ball to make shots and he's an athletic finisher as well.

11) [player_tooltip player_id='1956063' first='Adrean' last='Newton'] | 6'0” PG | Maury (#27 Overall)

Newton has been running the show at Maury since his freshman season where he showed no fear, and the same remains to this day, he's just improved a lot to make him one of the best guards in the 757 heading into his senior season. He's a bulldog of a point guard who will pick you up 94 feet and turn you the whole way, he's shifty off the bounce and touches the paint at will, he makes everyone on his team better and he can score the ball in a number of different ways.

10) [player_tooltip player_id='1494115' first='Cy' last='Hardy'] | 6'0” PG | Northside (#26 Overall)

When it comes to the most underrated players in the state, Hardy is firmly in that conversation as he was the VHSL Class 3 Player of the Year last year and has led Northside to two straight state championships, yet still doesn't have a division one offer. Hardy's a high intelligent and skilled guard who knows what to do in every situation, he scores the ball well from all three levels, he sets the tone defensively and he has no wasted movements or bad habits that come out often in his game.

9) [player_tooltip player_id='1767516' first='Colby' last='White'] | 6'3” CG | Blue Ridge (#22 Overall)

White is another guard whose recruitment baffles me, as he was one of Blue Ridge's top players last season and has shown a lot of improvement over the years setting him up for a big senior season for a talented Barons group. At 6'3” White has great length and can guard every perimeter position on the floor, he's able to create for himself and others off the bounce, he can score it in a number of different ways and he is a good rebounder as well.

8) [player_tooltip player_id='1494111' first='Masiah' last='Stevens'] | 5'10” PG | Woodside (#21 Overall)

Stevens is one of two Radford commits on this list after helping lead Woodside to back-to-back VHSL Class 5 State Championships, and Highlander fans will love his exciting and impactful style of play. While he's not even 6'0” he plays like a giant as he is super explosive to get above the rim or crash hard to get rebounds, he has cat like quickness off the bounce with good burst, he is a strong finisher through contact with great hang time and he is a scrappy defender on the ball too.

7) [player_tooltip player_id='1494105' first='Donovan' last='Richardson'] | 6'6” CG | Steward (#17 Overall)

The University of Richmond landed two local guards early in their 2025 class, with Richardson being the RVA native who fits their style of play perfectly whether it will be as a guard or as a wing in their Princeton system. At 6'6” Richardson has the length the Spiders lover, as well as the all-around game to plug and play in their system. He has a good handle for his size with wiggle and the ability to change speeds, he can get downhill and use his size to finish at the rim and he's improved a lot over his years with his consistency as an outside shooter.

6) [player_tooltip player_id='1494109' first='Ashton' last='Walker'] | 6'4” PG | Catholic (#16 Overall)

Walker is the other Radford commit in this class as the Highlanders landed two of the players in the 757 to come to the NRV, and since watching him develop since his freshman year as a 5'11” guard at Salem he'll have a chance to make an immediate impact next year. At 6'4” Walker has great size as a true lead guard, especially in the Big South where he'll be a mismatch, and with that size they'll be able to play two or maybe even three guards at once. He's very shifty off the bounce with the ability to create space in the midrange area where he makes tough shots, he is a high IQ playmaker with the ball in his hands and he is a very good defender as well.
