The Expo: Oregon - Team Three Scouting Report

The Expo went down this past weekend at the Beaverton YMCA, an event that hosted enough guys for 12 teams to get up and down and compete. We are going through each team, one by one, to break down each player's performance from the event. Here is the scouting report for team three.    He's a speedy guard who was able to create a lot of opportunities for both himself and others with his attacks off the dribble. Showed the ability to read defenses fast for dishes, and got hot from 3-point range. Was really effective hitting threes off the dribble, both walking into them and using some quick step-backs to free himself up.     He didn't get a ton of touches but was effective on the defensive end with some active hands to tip passes, and did a nice job moving the ball up the floor quickly after possession changes with passes and moving it up himself.     The lefty guard displayed a decent shot from long-range, dropping in several threes on the day. He also did a good job mixing up the timing of his pickups on drives to avoid swipes and split defenders.     Was really good off the ball on both ends of the floor. Got up into passing lanes, did a good job denying one pass away, and was aware of long skip passes. Was pretty aggressive on that end of the floor too, stepping up quickly to meet his man and working hard to get in position to help on drives. Made some aware cuts to the hoop too and into space to help teammates under pressure.     The lefty did well to attack gaps with the dribble, finding space for in-between shots and showing some good strength and craft to finish at the rim. He's a kid who played hard, worked on defense, and played with pretty good all-around awareness.     Pretty solid all-around performance for Fauth. He was able to contest shots and did a good job going up to block some shots at the rim. Showed he can step out and hit some threes, spotting up from three in transition. He also did a good job finding space underneath and finishing around the cup with soft-touch finishes.     Played hard on both ends and did a great job filling lanes on the break and finishing high and strong at the rim. Showed some ability to hit short-range jumpers both on the move and reversing back out of drives. Was a solid rebounder and a pretty athletic player overall.     He was an aggressive defender on the perimeter, moving his feet and hands well and sitting on fakes. Was another guy making good reads off the ball to cut to space and give ballhandlers good options when the defense collapsed inside.     He played a very active game, getting to the basket with some strong rips and jabs, and had a few really nice finishes putting the ball off the glass up high to avoid shot-blockers. Competed hard in transition and on defense, as well as working to help out on the boards.     Taller perimeter player who can handle the ball a bit and was able to make some good passes out of pressure in deep positions. Was able to knock down some threes and helped out on the glass with his length on both ends.
