LONG BEACH — The annual Ron Massey Fall Hoops Classic at McBride high school featured many of SoCal's top high school programs and prospects. The two-day event provided a platform for high level competition as teams begin their tune-ups for the regular season. Below we take a look at the best passers we saw.

Ashton McCullough | 2025 | Oak Hills (CA)

McCullough is back in the mix in the high desert after a season in Oregon at a prep program and his presence as a leader, ball handler and decision-maker makes that team tenfold better. The 6-foot-4 senior possesses great positional size, plays with good pace and patience and is a willing passer in transition and half-court offense. McCullough allows the game to come to him and makes the right reads more often than not.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630644' first='Blake' last='Davidson'] | 2025 | Mater Dei (CA)

Davidson is the lone big man passer on this list and it's because he sees the game like a guard does. The 6-foot-9 forward is patient on low and high post touches where he surveys the floor, reads the defense and finds open shooters and cutters. The University of Nevada-bound senior fits in perfectly with how Mater Dei's offense runs because of his vision and basketball IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630637' first='Jaedyn' last='Patterson'] | 2025 | St. Monica Prep (CA)

Patterson has been known as one of the better scoring point guards in SoCal since his freshman season at St. Anthony, but Saturday he showed improvements as a passer and decision-maker. The 6-foot-2 senior is a settling force for St. Monica's high octane approach to the offensive and defensive ends and, when the ball was in his hands in transition, he made the right play at the right time and got the ball into the hands of his teammate who gave his team the best chance to score quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436278' first='Malcolm' last='Price'] | 2027 | St. Joseph (CA)

Price is emerging as one of the best underclass point guards on the west coast and his performance Saturday only helped cement that further. The 6-foot-1 sophomore is a steady ball handler and decision-maker whose vision, basketball IQ and great pace in transition and half-court offense allowed St. Joseph's offense to run smoothly despite missing five-star wing [player_tooltip player_id='1630616' first='Tounde' last='Yessoufou']. Price picks his spots well when pushing the tempo or pulling the ball out to run offense. What Price does really well is find his older brother, Julius, for open shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630660' first='Myles' last='Walker'] | 2025 | Roosevelt (CA)

Walker is one of the most under-appreciated point guards on the west coast and, every time I watch him play, I marvel at his toughness, high basketball IQ and ability to just get stuff done. The 5-foot-9 senior plays alongside two other very talented offensive players in [player_tooltip player_id='1630617' first='Brayden' last='Burries'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1630629' first='Isaac' last='Williamson'] and is the perfect complement to those guys because of his unselfishness and willingness to get the the ball where they are most successful.

[player_tooltip player_id='994689' first='Noah' last='George'] | 2026 | CIA Bella Vista (AZ)

George orchestrates a high octane EYBL Scholastic offense with a ton of weapons at every position. The 6-foot-3 junior has a lot of true point guard in his game because of the fact that he has the pulse of his team on each and every possession. George operates with great pace and patience in ball screen action, throws accurate lobs and pocket passes and delivers on-time and on-target passes to his open shooters.
