In our previous article, we have already taken a look at some guards who deserve college recognition and even some who already have significant Division 1 offers. Guards are not the only ones who do dirty work on the court, look no further than the traditional big man in the middle. Many posts and wings these days are straying from the old school way of only staying near the rim and are expanding their game to the perimeter and the mid-range. Let's look at some wings and posts who are making an impact on Greater Houston basketball and greatly rose their stock over the past year.

Anthony "LJ" Andrews had a big summer in AAU and is projected to continue that momentum into school basketball this fall. He is a force to be reckoned with in the paint, coming away with critical rebounds on the defensive side as well as battling with opponents for position on offense. Andrews can also expand his game to the perimeter and knows how to spot up as an efficient shooting stretch five. He made a stellar impact for the Cardinals last year in the starting lineup and will continue to showcase why he is a very recruitable athlete as he goes into his senior year. LJ currently has offers from George Mason and Lamar.

Aidan is a big-time player for this Barbers Hill team going into this season. He has steadily been making improvements for the last few years and now makes his presence known every time he steps on the court. Williams can score from all three levels and is a good all-around player showing he can handle the ball, finish with ease around the rim, and shoot the three pointer if needed. He is as versatile a player as anyone with his 6'7 height and can play any of the 3-5 spots this year that the Eagles need. Look for Aidan to have another big year and recruitment to pick up as he goes into his senior spotlight season. Williams currently holds a Southern Arkansas offer and interest from Air Force.

Jeremiah had quite a school season last year as Spring Westfield sat atop among the best teams in their district and he was a big reason for this. Jeremiah can finish with force around the rim, slamming home dunks and alley-oops over opponents as well as finessing his way to the foul line. He hits foul shots with consistency and always finds a way to impact the game under the basket, regardless of how many points he has. He uses his length and height to send shots away from all angles and is a great hustle player in crunch time. Coaches, if you need a big man, I would highly recommend giving Cooper a chance as he is projected to have another year with solid, high averages.

I have gotten to watch Didi a few times over this summer and he has impressed each time he has stepped on the court. His footwork in the post is exceptional and his turnaround floater/layup is almost unblockable with his height. Zanguim can score off the pick and roll as the screener and shows ability to guard on the perimeter when switched onto the ballhandler. I believe he will showcase himself well this year with Good Vision Academy and make an immediate impact for his squad.
