The annual CBG Fall Series took place again this past weekend at the beautiful Henrico Sports and Events Center, with 4 courts featuring over 40 teams from VA, NC, WV, DC and MD. There were hundreds of future college prospects in attendance, along with over double digit collegiate coaches and multiple national scouts in attendance.

In order to give a thorough breakdown of the many standouts from the event, I will be rolling out standouts all weeks in the different classes. Here's part one of two for some of the many sophomore and freshmen standouts from VA teams in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353657' first='Kaylen' last='Chilton'] | 6'1” CG | CG Woodson 2027

Chilton is one of the top sophomores in the state coming in at #2 in the latest Prep Hoops rankings, and he showed why leading Woodson to two impressive wins and being their leading scorer in the event. The 6'1” combo is so hard to guard off the bounce as he's lightning quick and has a tight handle that allows him to change directions easily, he showed his ability to create space and get his shot off quickly, he made shots off the catch and he showed his athletic finishing ability as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548293' first='Conner' last='Wilcox'] | 6'5” F | Atlee 2027

Wilcox is one of the best young players in the Richmond area, and he was fantastic for Atlee who played more games than anyone and showed they're going to be a tough out this season. At 6'5” Wilcox provides a versatile mismatch option for the Raiders as he showed his ability to post up smaller defenders and finishes well around the rim, he's athletic enough to protect the rim and switch and move his feet on guards and he showed good ball skills on the perimeter as a shot maker too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353665' first='Will' last='Braun-Duin'] | 6'2” WG | John Handley 2027

Handley didn't duck any smoke at the Fall Series, requesting to play top tier teams to test themselves, and Braun-Duin showed why he's one of the top players in his class as well as why Handley will be a contender in Class 4 this season. The 6'2” guard is just a hooper as he showed his ability to make shots from well behind the three-point line, he made shots on the move and off the bounce, he showed his ability to work in ball screens and he competed on both ends with toughness.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470591' first='Jaylen' last='Tyler'] | 5'8” PG | LC Bird 2027

Tyler saw limited time last year on LC Bird's team that made a run to the state championship game, and despite them returning much of that roster it looks like he's going to get some run as he's just too good to not play. Despite his diminutive size Tyler competed and showed a lot of toughness on both ends of the floor, he showed his ability to break down defenders off the bounce, he made shots when he was left open and he was an absolute pest on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470566' first='Brady' last='Burnette'] | 6'1” WG | St. Chris 2027

Burnette was good for the time he got as a freshman on St. Chris last year, but after a big summer with Team Loaded and a year of experience under his belt it's clear he's going to get a lot more burn and he's ready to be a big impact guy for his team. The 6'1” two guard is a deadly shooter who showed deep range and a quick release on his shot, he is a good secondary ball handler who made plays for others off the bounce and he's a sneaky athlete who is more explosive and stronger than he looks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548299' first='Isaiah' last='Savage'] | 6'0” WG | St. Michael 2027

Savage had a coming out party at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo two weekends ago, and he showed it was no fluke coming down to the Fall Series and dazzling with his athleticism. He's so intriguing as he's already a top tier athlete who showed that playing well above the rim on lobs and in transition, he used his athleticism defensively to make plays and he showed flashes of ball skills and shooting that is positive for him as a prospect moving forward.

Brian Mitchell | 6'3” WG | Varina 2027

Mitchell was one of the top freshmen in the state last season helping Varina make another deep run in the state playoffs, and while he got hurt and didn't play in their last two games he still showed his exceptional skill for someone his age. He's a talented shot maker who made shots from deep off the catch with good range, he got to spots in the midrange and used his size to make tough shots and he showed good instincts on both ends of the floor.
