Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Chilton has made the move to Combine Academy where he is key piece in that backcourt for Coach Betts. His ability to hit the mid-range pull up with consistency really shined this weekend. Whether it was isolation or ball screen’s, he turned to that weapon quite a bit with a lot of success. He can make shots off the catch from deep as well, and is doing a nice job running the team. Chilton has the quickness to make defenses pay when not guarding with purpose. His ability to see the floor and find shooters is impressive as well, he can get a little ambitious as a passer but he definitely sees the floor quite well. Expect Chilton to continue to gel at Combine throughout the course of this season.

‘s role was big last year, but his Junior season will see him be the center of Woodson’s offense. Kaylen will be the lead ball handler for this team and will also be the go-to scorer. Kaylen is explosive in getting to the rim and has a nice jump shot. He is an elite shot creator for himself and scores from all three levels. Kaylen had 26 points and 6 rebounds for Woodson, and he was pretty unguardable.

is a true three-level scorer, and he is highly skilled. Kaylen can be effective off the ball but also does an excellent job using his quickness and skill to score on players in isolation scenarios. He has a high IQ and competes on both ends of the floor. He finished with 22 points in Woodson’s close win over Forest Park.

is as good as any guard in the state for 2027. Kaylen was the leading scorer for a state title-contending Woodson team. Kaylen has an elite handle and is one of the toughest guys to stay in front of. He does a great job finishing over defenders in the paint, and he hits tough jump shots. He is effective as a shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Kaylen was a first-team all-state selection, and he takes up one of my guard spots.

has led this Woodson team in scoring back-to-back years. His ability to blow by people and finish and/or draw contact always impresses me. He has a nice handle and is a very natural scorer. I’m interested to see what happens next year with him with this Woodson team essentially losing most of their production from this year. Kaylen played off the ball a decent amount this year, but I’m excited to see what he does as a true lead guard.

Kaylen is one of the top guards in the state for 2027, and he showed that against Lake Braddock. Kaylen is one of the fastest players with the ball in his hands I’ve seen this year, and he is an elite shot-creator on all three levels. Kaylen has had a solid year two on a well-balanced and elite Woodson team. He had 21 in a win over Lake Braddock, then had 13 in a win over West Springfield.
