2027 Rankings Update: Newcomers

PH NorCal has updated the Class of 2027 Rankings. We now have a total of 143 prospect in the rankings, 99 ranked, 44 more on the Watch List which means you're on the radar. In this write up we have the top newcomers. Here at PH NorCal we do our best to find new prospects.    Montano is our top newcomer to this class. We first laid eyes on him running the point for Salesian College Prep, one of NorCals top programs. He handles himself well against quality competition Section 7, then again at Cali-Live. A 6'2 guard with handles, vision, and good passing. He can knock down the open 3, uses his body to get into the paint. He has a mid-range, defends well. We'll see if the newcomer should be ranked higher.     6'3 with a solid body, he's aggressive working in and around the post area. He can dribble drive hard into the paint at times. He has 3pt range from the corners, drives the baseline to get to the basket. He has the body to defend inside and get his fair share of rebounds.     He's a hard playing prospect still growing. He doesn't have a set position just yet. He takes care of the ball when he has it, he'll move the ball or use his growing body and a few dribbles to get to the basket. He runs the court hard in transition and gives good effort on the defensive side of the ball.     We spotted him in the Spring playing with Bay City his age group. There he showed a good all around skill set standing 6'7. He was active on the boards, had some paint presence, he changed a couple of shots. He made himself a target working through the post, paint jumpers, finishing around the rim. He has 3point range.     Our first look at White was in Rock Hill, SC, 3SSB. He was active and bouncy working inside on defense hands up to challenge shots. He has an expanding skill set. Most of his points came inside the paint, but he did show he could make a 3ptr, run the court for transition buckets. He's goes out of his space to get rebounds, his defense was good.     Standing 6'3 he's a strong square shoulder prospect with a good body to take it up strong, finish around the basket powering up in traffic. He's got a few dribble drive moves to get to the basket along the perimeter, and finish in transition. We'll have to see more.     A good athlete with an improving skill set, he's fast and unafraid attacking the basket for transition buckets challenging taller defenders. He has good handles, hard drives into the paint. He's a ball mover, makes good cuts. He has the speed and quickness to disrupt ball handlers.     He plays a balanced game, with good fundamentals, a ball mover, decent handles, sees the court, he tries to make the right play. He has good foot work, and patience to get his shots off inside, finishing with either hand. He can hit the mid-range, he has 3pt range.
