With the summer season wrapping up we wanted to take a look at some of the prospects that went from unknown to players that will most likely be ranked in our next updates. These prospects made a name for themselves during the high school tournaments in June and in July with their travel teams. Here we examine Summer New Names Breakout: Post Prospects!

Hudson Scroggins (Lake Forest – 2025)

Scroggins was one of the biggest winners coming out of the Ridgewood Live Event as the skilled 6'7” power forward created quite a buzz among college coaches. He is a face up four man that can really shoot the basketball. Plus shooter from three spotting up that can also put it on the deck for a crisp one or two dribble pull up in the 15-18 foot range. Like the skill, footwork, and touch around the basket as well with his sound moves on the block. Good rebounder and passes very well. Low-majors and high D2s are very intrigued!

[player_tooltip player_id='2538922' first='George' last='Richardson'] (Evanston – 2025)

Richardson had a breakout game for Powerhouse at The Last Dance where we saw him drop 21 points. The 6'5” four man has good strength and mobility. Runs the floor well for rim run points, can hit a pick/pop three, and pounds the offensive glass for second chance buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='1295650' first='Solomon' last='Talbott'] (Collinsville – 2025)

Talbott is a 6'10” five man that played limited minutes as a junior for the Kahoks, but will be a big part of what they do this year on both ends. The true five man passes well out of the post and the lefty has solid touch around the bucket. High points rebounds and is tough to score on defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2538867' first='James' last='Amison'] (Perspectives – 2025)

Amison had a massive showing to open up the Grit Region Finals for [program_tooltip program_id='2075957' first='The' last='Work Foundation']. The 6'7” post posted 20 points with fluidity and athleticism. Spin moves on the block, pick/roll finishes, mid-range jumpers with consistency, and even stretched to three. Defensively he brings switchability along with rim protection.

[player_tooltip player_id='2538930' first='Tyler' last='Thick'] (Hinsdale Central – 2025)

Thick has legit center size at 6'8”. Plus offensive rebounder that had a ton of put backs on the glass. Converts out of the dunker spot and can finish in the pick/roll. Good post defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='2540086' first='Jamarion' last='Green'] (Alton – 2026)

This 6'7” post caught our attention with his high school team at the Blue Storm Tournament in June. Strong and physical post that finishes well around the hoop out of the dunker spot, rebounds on both ends, and gets second chance points on the offensive glass.

Maks Depolo (New Trier – 2026)

This 6'7” post impacts on the defensive end with his post D. Finishes well in the paint and plays as a pick/roll finisher.
