IRVINE — The 5th annual Hoops By Ugland Skills Summit took place Sunday at Beckman high school and featured more than 80 class players from the classes of 2025-2028 from throughout the state of California. Below we take a look at some under-the-radar wings, forwards and centers who impressed.

Jordan Taylor | 2025 | Los Alamitos

Taylor is your prototypical ball handling and slashing wing who impacts the game in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-3 senior has the versatility in his game to play three positions offensively and showed that his ball-handling and basketball IQ allow him to initiate offense, while his spot-up shooting and feel and timing on cuts allow him to slide off the ball.

Landon Winslow | 2025 | Alhambra

Winslow is a gritty, tough and physical wing who is best as a downhill finisher in transition and half-court offense. He used his burly frame and broad shoulders to initiate and finish through contact in the lane while also showing some good touch out to the three-point line.

Quasi Azem | 2026 | Beckman

Azem might be a tad bit undersized for his position but he makes up for it with a combination of energy, skill and the willingness to do the little things to help his team win. Azem showed toughness as an interior defender and rebounder and really good touch around the basket when finishing in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404097' first='Tyler' last='Harris'] | 2025 | Downey

Harris brings offensive versatility and an old-school, throwback feel to the floor. The 6-foot-4 forward can knock down the open catch-and-shoot three, but he might be best in the mid and low-post areas. Harris can face-up and knock down mid-range jumpers, back a smaller defender down and score over them in the lane and is a savvy scorer around bigger defenders with his fundamental shot fakes and footwork.

Tyrese Butler | 2026 | Arcadia

Butler is a high energy and disruptive on-ball defender who has the size and length to guard multiple positions on the perimeter. Offensively, the 6-foot-3 junior is adept and getting downhill in transition and slashing his way to the rim where he can elevate and finish around rim protectors.
