[player_tooltip player_id='2382874' first='Mason' last='Ridgeway'] was the player I picked as my breakout underclassman of the year last year, and I don't think he gets the respect he deserves. Mason had a great summer for [program_tooltip program_id='2078817' first='Virginia' last='Elite'], and he has a more refined skill set than a lot of the players ahead of him. He's 6'6 with a good handle and a special ability to get to his spots. He plays at his own pace, getting to the rim and putting in crafty finishes. He can shoot the ball well with good range. Riverside is an interesting team, and Mason is their best player. Their second-leading scorer, [player_tooltip player_id='2242375' first='Shane' last='Crissman'] transferred to Miller so you may see even more offense from Mason. You will likely see a bump in production from his 13.7 PPG last year. Riverside returns much of their talent and may be a sleeper.

There are several other Riverside players I could have put as players that I felt weren't getting the attention they deserve heading into this year. However, the second guy I wanted to highlight is [player_tooltip player_id='2351969' first='Brady' last='Peterson']. Versatility and effort are the best two ways to describe Brady. He had some great performances for Riverside this summer and was great for Virginia Premier. What I like about Riverside is they always have a lot of shooting on the floor. Brady is a great example of that. Brady is a great spot-up shooter and has a fast release. He does a great job moving without the ball, and when he is playing as a big he does great picking and popping. When teams run him off the line he does a great job putting the ball on the floor and either hitting a pull-up or getting to the rim. His ability to crash the offensive glass following missed shots is terrific and he is an overall fantastic rebounder. He is a good interior defender and blocks a lot of shots for his size. Brady can do everything on the court well and will have a fantastic senior season.

I watched [player_tooltip player_id='2509768' first='Hobbes' last='Fiel'] play a lot this summer, mainly at the Hammerzone Summer League for James Madison, but I did get to catch a few of his games for NOVA Cavs. Hobbes knows how to control a game, and he was great at the end of games. He has an outstanding understanding of the game and can play either guard position. Hobbes is a terrific shooter and crafty finisher around the rim. Hobbes is always one of the smallest guys on the court but he manages to get his shot off quickly and from difficult angles. He is a great mover without the ball and hits shots with deep range. Keep your eye on [player_tooltip player_id='2509768' first='Hobbes' last='Fiel'] heading into his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242429' first='Anderson' last='Krisko'] was a player I recently talked about as being a riser this summer, and he is a player to watch heading into this fall. Anderson was terrific for Marshall in the Hammerzone summer league and over the past few years, he has gotten better in multiple areas. Anderson uses his size productively and doesn't shy away from contact in the paint. Marshall is losing a decent amount of production, and they will look to Anderson to fill a lot of that production. I could see him breaking into that top 100 after seeing what he has done this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1588130' first='Devon' last='Pettibone'] had a good Sophomore season for Briar Woods, but I think he will elevate his game in a big way as a Junior. I felt watching Devon last year that he had a lot of the tools you need to be successful as a guard, he just needed to tighten up parts of his game. Improving his efficiency and not turning the ball over as much are the next steps in Devon's game. Devon is a great shooter and is a good passer. He is quick and an active defender. When I saw Devon for [program_tooltip program_id='2349432' first='Team' last='Attack'] in May I loved what he was able to do as a spot-up shooter, and he hit some big shots in big moments.
