Prep Hoops has done it again, hosting another successful event in the sunshine state while providing a platform for rising student-athletes to showcase their skills. The PH Sophomore ID Canp was hosted in Longwood, FL on Saturday where prospects demonstrated their skills and competed with and against their peers. Let's get into Drew's Part I breakdown of top performers throughout this event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194964' first='Nolan' last='Nelson'] | F | 2027 | Creekside | @NolanNelson2027

The dual-sport athlete was instantly on my radar after walking in the gym with a legit 6-8 215 pound frame. He was stamped as the real deal for me after watching his ability to be mobile and fluid because of his overall athleticism. He's a problem near the rim and is becoming more well-rounded with his game which includes a solid jump shot to help stretch the floor. Nelson led his high school in scoring this past season with 13.6 points per game while shooting 61% from the field. He also crashes the boards as he grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game with 1.4 blocks to add on the defensive end. This kid has the tools and potential to develop into a premier recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125504' first='Oneal' last='Delancy'] | G | 2027 | Gibbs | @0neal_Delancy

Certainly not a stranger in the top standout list as [player_tooltip player_id='2125504' first='Oneal' last='Delancy'] puts on a show every time at our PH events. One of the true playmakers this season for Gibbs HS, this kid has everything you want in a rising prospect. If there was one 2027 guard that could potentially play Division I ball from his performance this weekend, that would be Delancy. His advanced ball handling skills and body control are above average for his class and the confidence to take and make tough perimeter shots is evident. He's a consistent shooter who can hit from midrange or create space to finish at the rim. Delancy is a rising baller who will be a star for Gibbs High

[player_tooltip player_id='2294539' first='Maddox' last='Harden'] | F | 2027 | Oak Ridge | @themaddoxharden

No doubt this kid was one of my top standouts after watching him put maximum effort on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend in Orlando at the PH Sophomore ID Camp. College coaches looking for a developing forward with post abilities but also athletic enough to create at the wing, get eyes on 6-8 rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2294539' first='Maddox' last='Harden'] . This kid still has plenty of development time at the prep level but has shown that he can be a solid production piece for the Oak Ridge roster this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2485434' first='Julian' last='Fox'] | CG | 2027 | Southeastern Prep Academy | @JulianFox228201

Was eager to get my eyes on this kid in person and left the PH Sophomore ID Camp confident in Fox's upside development. He's turned heads this offseason with some impressive offseason performances and followed them up with scorching hot shooting at the event this weekend. At 6-foot-3, he has quickly become one of the standout 2027 prospects in Central Florida, thanks to his agility and scoring prowess. Fox's solid jump shot and all-around game make him a real threat on the court. Still a lot of time for growth before the recruiting turns up but watch out for this kid to make some noise this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2082230' first='Chase' last='Weismiller'] | CG | 2027 | Sickles | @chase_w2027

There's always a knockdown shooter at these type of events and Weismiller finished as the best of them all. I mean it was one point where I hadn't seen this kid miss in back-to-back games. As the 6-2 rising sophomore, he displayed a good three-point shot combined with his quick release and just a solid overall offensive game. He's also a good defender who likes to push the floor after causing turnovers or grabbing boards. Weismiller was selected to the Western Conference American Division second team and was a top 25 all-star selection from TBB Coaches for his productive play. Look out for him to continue progressing heading into the summer period.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125489' first='Jadus' last='Sorhaindo'] | F | Class of 2027 | Berkeley Prep | @Jadus38503458

Sorhaindo is one of the more physical sophomore prospects at the event this weekend who understood how to use his size to dominate in the paint and on the boards. Standing at nearly 6-foot-7, Sorhaindo moves fluidly and get up and down the court. Props to his work ethic and conditioning throughout the summer which helped keep him fresh. Once he upgrades his half-court game, Sorhaindo will be a forward prospect name to know in a short period.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125480' first='Gabe' last='Grimsley'] | G | 2027 | Berkeley Prep | @GabeGrimsley27

As a 6-0 guard that can play with good versatility, Grimsley is the complete package at point guard for 2027. His handles are so smooth, he *is* the press break. A true leader, Grimsley's unselfish play and high basketball IQ elevate everyone around him. Defensively, he's elite—quick enough to lock down opponents, and offensively, he can score from all three levels. Grimsley's game is a blend of speed, skill, and smarts, making him a top prospect to watch.

Ryan Gornto | G | 2027 | Providence | @ryan_gornto

Always enjoy watching this kid compete as he's one of the better overall players that can do multiple things on the court. Gornto has consistently been one one of my top standouts at one of our PH Florida events where we saw him shoot the ball from three consistently while giving maximum effort on the defensive end. Has a good frame already where he can add some size and weight to be effective at the varsity level. Gornto scored 10.5 points per game this past season in which I came away really impressed with his ability to stay locked in and be a deadeye shooter from start to finish. Have to get eyes on him during the winter period.

[player_tooltip player_id='2294522' first='James' last='Rivera'] | F | 2027 | Academy of Central Florida | @j_rivera1423

Talk about having all the tools in the box to get the job done. Rivera was one of the taller prospects to attend the event but has the skills of a dominant scoring guard. Standing around 6-8, Rivera initiated most of the action this weekend for his squad at the PH Sophomore ID Camp. Still has plenty of time to work on footwork and fundamentals where he can be a problem near the rim but he flashes solid handles and a decent jump shot form mid and three range for his lengthier size. Keep an eyes on this kid's overall development.
