David Barns Showcase: Notable Performances

There was tremendous talent in the gym encompassing all classes, positions and levels. Let's start with the fact that he handled the ball well on Saturday and got it to it's spots. Calvert feels the game and showed he can score and distribute. This versatility as a guard has been a big part of his game. The best part of adding him to a program might just be the intangibles. Calvert brings an aura of respect and hard work to the gym. He's very strong in the paint and has a frame that college coaches would love to work with. Scott rebounded high and kept the ball up on Saturday. I like the way he battled for position underneath the rim and I like the way he's developing ball skills as well. I hope college coaches saw what I saw. He's always carried a bit of a reputation as a shooter, which is fine because he does it and does it very well. But Guenthardt was way more than that on Saturday. He was so creative with the ball. He's a versatile player that made it feel like he could guard about 3 positions when it comes to high school season. You could see Garwood's basketball IQ at the David Barns Showcase. He's a bit of a legend at the event having performed at a very high level in multiple years. Last year his shooting stood out to me. This year it was his leadership and 2 way play that drew my eyes. Bledsoe is a veteran at this point and carried himself like one. Defensively, he used a strong core to move and redirect ball handlers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
