My annual Film Room series is back for another year! There were over 50 Players who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the first group of 2025s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):

[player_tooltip player_id='1266488' first='Evan' last='Enos'] begins my first Film Review article with some film from a recent UAA Event where he averaged 11 Points Per Game and 6 Rebounds Per Game on 38% 3-Point Field Goal Shooting. Evan is an absolute sniper from behind the arc and doesn't need much space to get a good look at the basket. Although most of his shooting clips were as a spot-up shooter, there were a couple of plays where Enos was used as a screener and popped into an open space along the perimeter. He frequently showed good off-ball movement as well keeping his feet active to find room and create space for his offense as well.

Roman is another Top-25 Prospect in the 2025 Class who submitted his film on Twitter. I didn't get to see him at all with his new AAU Team this Summer, Team KST, so it was nice to see some highlights of him from their tournaments. Cooley is a very solid player capable of adding offensive and defensive versatility from a wing or forward position. He is a very confident driver and an efficient jump shooter. He has a good handle and can either work quickly with one or two dribbles or create off the bounce by breaking down a defender on his own. Roman also displayed athleticism and strength in finishing at the rim with either hand.

Although I only got to see him at the very start of the Season, I heard lots of good things about Lance throughout his Junior year and he posted his film from the school ball for review. Henderson is a terrific shooter but does a lot more to help impact winning, particularly on the defensive end with things that often might go unnoticed. His shot blocking as a guard stood out immediately, but he will also put his body on the line to draw a charge. Lance is a strong playmaker as well, with a decent handle and very good vision. He could see more of the ball in his hands in his Senior year for Broome as a result of some of their departures from last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1978435' first='Bryson' last='Duck'] was one of my Biggest Standouts from across the State this Summer after multiple big events for Southside Christian and [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] Royal. His ability to navigate ball pressure and use his body or ball handle to find space on the offensive end stood out to me from his AAU Highlight Reel. He is skilled in finishing around the paint and can pull out a jump stop, spin move, euro step, or pump fake when he needs to. Also, Duck's film was very balanced between passing and scoring - something that passed the eye test from when I've seen him in person.

Hemphill is a Point Guard from Westside High School and was a teammate with Duck for [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] during the Summer. He may be a little undersized, but I was most impressed by his ability to see the floor and the passes that followed those reads. Although he is a true-pass first Guard, Hemphill also showed that he could spot up off the ball and knock down threes. Martavis will even bring some energy to the defensive end, picking up with heavy ball pressure and making life difficult for opposing ball handlers.

Brelin submitted his Junior Season Highlights where he made All-Region averaging 17 Points Per Game for Belton Honea-Path. I have been impressed with Dennis in the few times I have seen him with the Bears, so I was excited to dive into his film and get a better feel for his game. He did a great job of beating his defender off the dribble and getting the ball in the paint. Once he got there, Dennis showed lots of athleticism to finish above the rim as well as craftiness to shift himself around bodies around the rim. Brelin has a good jump shot, but it was clear defenders would have rather him shoot a three than overreact and allow him a driving lane. He also had a couple of really interesting plays on the defensive end using his athleticism to reject shots at the basket. Overall, Brelin had one of my favorite highlight tapes and he is a name I will circle going into the 2024-25 High School Season.

Charles is a dual-sport athlete who attended Fountain Inn High School before transferring to Mountain View Prep for his Senior Year. Salley seemed to play bigger than his listed height because of his spring-like leaping ability. His film featured lots of finishing around the rim but it was balanced with post-ups, transition finishes, and short-distance drives. Charles also had a few nice moments on the offensive glass and multiple made threes.
