Although I only got to see him at the very start of the Season, I heard lots of good things about Lance throughout his Junior year and he posted his film from the school ball for review. Henderson is a terrific shooter but does a lot more to help impact winning, particularly on the defensive end with things that often might go unnoticed. His shot blocking as a guard stood out immediately, but he will also put his body on the line to draw a charge. Lance is a strong playmaker as well, with a decent handle and very good vision. He could see more of the ball in his hands in his Senior year for Broome as a result of some of their departures from last season.

Lance did a lot in his team’s blowout victory over Shannon Forest. Henderson made sure that the team with gold as one of its school colors would be in this year’s Battle at the Border Gold Bracket. Henderson scored 25 points which led all point-getters for this contest. Henderson typically plays as a guard in the Centurions’ backcourt. He especially made life difficult for the Crusaders with his range from deep. Out of the seven 3-pointers that Broome was true on for this game, four of those triples departed from Henderson’s hands. The standout junior stands at six feet per the Centurions roster.

Lance gave great minutes off the bench for the Centurions on Wednesday. He sparked the offense in all 3 games and proved to be a great leader both on the floor and when on the bench. He is a relentless driver, willing to get two feet in the lane to either finish or kick to teammates. Whatever his role in the upcoming season will be, I’m confident Henderson will have a big impact for Coach McManus in his First Year at Broome.
