This 2027 class is DEEP with talent. It's so very early in their careers and there are already 8 players in the class who hold D1 offers. With them only entering their Sophomore seasons, there is a lot of volatility in the rankings and we have had some players move way up the list in this update. Here's a breakdown of the top shooting guards in the latest update. This does not include and players who are in the top ten of the class.

Johnson Central's [player_tooltip player_id='1745584' first='Austin' last='Slone'] may be the best player in the class that hardly anyone knows about. Slone can fill it up at a high rate and doesn't take long to get hot. He's got deep range on his jumpshot and is comfortable firing from about anywhere past halfcourt.

Another big time shooter in this class, Fairdale's [player_tooltip player_id='1745595' first='Michael' last='Ray Stinnett'] shot nearly 50% from three as a freshman and had a game this summer where he made 16 threes on his way to 54 points in the game. If you're looking for a pure shooter, Stinnett may be the best in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2212469' first='Corey' last='Flinchum'] had a big freshman season for Wolfe County after being one of the leading scorers in Kentucky as an 8th grader at Jackson City. I'm not sure where Corey is playing this season as he played summer ball at Montgomery County but did not stay there. Regardless of where he ends up, expect Corey to score a ton of points again as a Sophomore.

Filed under potential breakout stars for this season, Warren Central's [player_tooltip player_id='2125714' first='Kash' last='Carter'] could be a big time difference maker for the Dragons this winter. Carter missed out on June and July after ankle surgery but will be ready when his Sophomore season starts. A bouncy athlete with a solid jumper, Carter is ready to make some noise in the 4th region this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381856' first='Dre'mail' last='Carothers'] of Owensboro Catholic is another player who could have a breakout season. Carothers was more of a role player last season but should see a bigger role for Coach Riley's Aces this winter. Dre'mail could end up being a quarterback in college but he's athletic enough that he's likely to draw interest for both sports over the next two years.
