Expert Analysis
Dylan Harrison | Prep Hoops Scout
Corey is the states leading scorer for a reason. He is averaging 38 PPG. Last night was no different. He finished with 39 points and 12 rebounds. Any spot on the floor is a danger zone for Corey. He has a dangerous mid-range jumper, can score from deep, and get to the rim. Corey is a player!

Corey has scored a ton of points in his high school career already and should expect more of the same this season. Flinchum is capable of averaging 30+ points per game this season. A player who thrives in the midrange and excels at pulling up off the dribble and knocking down jumpers.

has been scoring at a high level for several years, averaging 26.7 points per game last season and already surpassing the 2,000-point mark for his career. He uses his strength to attack and finish at the rim, while also proving capable from the perimeter and consistent at the free throw line. His blend of size, strength, and natural scoring instinct makes him one of the top offensive talents in the state. With two seasons still ahead, expect Flinchum to continue climbing the career scoring charts.

has already established himself as one of the most prolific scorers in the 2027 class. A strong, versatile guard, he excels getting downhill, finishing at the rim, and knocking down midrange jumpers. With 2,086 career points and a 26.7 scoring average last season, he’s proven his efficiency by shooting 40.5% from three and 91.9% from the line, while also showing the ability to create for others. Flinchum’s combination of size, skill, and scoring ability will make him a priority for college programs. He already has an offer from Arkansas-Monticello.

Flinchum has scored a ton of points already in his career. A big guard who excels in the midrange or getting to the rim, Corey is one of the top scorers in this 2027 class overall and is well on his way to 3,000+ career points. If he can show the ability to guard as well as he can score, schools will be lining up to recruit the big guard.

One referee working camp yesterday was adamant that Flinchum was the best player in the event. Corey definitely had his entire skill set working and excelled at playing off of two feet and scoring in the midrange. He and Langhi battled in three on three and five on five and went back and forth. Corey still needs to work to become a more complete player and be a better defender but Flinchum has a well rounded offensive game.

Flinchum impacts the game in multiple ways. After driving to the basket, he can shoot over defenders and finish through contact. His passing ability makes the defense pay for leaving a teammate open. He provides extra possessions and second chance points by grabbing tough rebounds.

definitely caught my attention at the Prep Hoops Circuit event. He was smooth and athletic and proved to be tough for defenders to stay in front of. Flinchum was able to find paths to the rim and attack them body control. He averaged just shy of 16 points a game and tallied 2 games of 20 plus.

Flinchum was a new name in this update and is already having a big scoring career that will end with him as a top 5 scorer in KHSAA history if trends continue. Like Slone, I look forward to seeing Corey this AAU season when he will be able to impress against better competition.

Flinchum is one of the better scorers to come through the Commonwealth lately. If he continues on the path he’s on right now, he’ll finish near the top of the KHSAA’s all time scoring list. Putting up shooting splits of 50-48-83 is very impressive. I’d like to see him in an AAU environment this spring or summer and see if he can score against higher level athletes than he sees in the 14th region on a nightly basis.
