Zero Gravity Live Finale: Friday Standouts Part One

The ZG Live Finale is underway at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA, with games tipping off on Friday afternoon. There's plenty of talent in the gym at the high school level, and a good number of college coaches in attendance as well. With five courts playing at all times, it's impossible to see every team and player. With that being said, here is part one of my Friday standouts! Part two will be coming tomorrow (Saturday) morning, and further coverage will extend through the weekend!    Fleming is a ridiculously exciting prospect. He's got exceptional length and size and attempts to block literally everything at the rim. The lefty wing/big is also very controlled offensively and has a pretty-looking shot from both the mid-range and three. Fleming also showed some really nice passing vision out of the high post, even throwing a few look-away dimes. Once he learns to play with a motor 100% of the time, he's going to be a high D1 recruit.     Hailey is a fantastic ball-handler, especially in small spaces. He had multiple instances of controlling the ball down low – Harlem Globetrotters style – while the defense tried to bend down and steal the ball. They couldn't. Hailey has great change-of-pace explosion and also has a mind for the game; he really understands when and how to thread the needle, and he had a bunch of nice no-look feeds. Will be excited to see how his body develops, but he should get scholarship looks. Really big fan of his feel.     Allen is, quite frankly, a dog. An opposing coach mentioned to one of his players that Allen hadn't scored yet (not true), and Allen proceeded to light them up for about 10 straight points immediately after. Once he gets a head of steam going to the hoop, he's tough to get in front of and alter his path, because he's incredibly sturdy and strong. He also has a solid pull-up game and can really defend. For his age, he's got incredible physical tools at the guard position. Definite scholarship-level prospect.     You know he's going left, but it doesn't matter because you simply cannot stop him from getting there. The southpaw is a great ball-handler with an excellent first step and phenomenal lefty touch off the backboard who has a deep bag of athletic, double-clutch finishes at the hoop. Dennis is a great play-finisher who will likely continue to develop his on-ball playmaking. He seems to be pursuing a football career, which I can imagine will go quite well for him.     Barnes is an incredibly skilled point guard with a very high basketball IQ. He doesn't really have an offensive weakness and can be heavily trusted as a team's point guard, which he is for Central Flight. He lights it up from three and also makes great decisions for his teammates via the pass. Barnes also has a surprisingly quick first-step and some solid athleticism at the hoop. Definite D3 guard with the potential for some D2 looks.     Faison is a big-time athlete who can score from all three levels. He's strong and sturdy and especially excels at getting to the rim. On Friday, he showed a great ability to get his teammates involved via a plethora of one-handed live-dribble passes in the paint. He's got really nice vision and a willingness to get his teammates involved even though he could probably force up a lot more shots than he does. Should be a scholarship player and would be very curious what he would look like on the football field.
