Expert Analysis
Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Fleming, out of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts, checks in at #7 among the power forwards and #17 overall. After missing a long stretch of time due to injury, Fleming is starting to look like his old self on the basketball court again. The big lefty can operate as the hub of an offense with his decision making, passing ability, and feel for the game from multiple spots on the floor. He’s a capable, multi-level scorer, makes plays with his back to the basket, and does a great job of starting the break off of his defensive rebounds. He’s a Division I prospect that should have plenty of options to choose from this spring.

Fleming is finally at full strength after a long injury recovery over the past year, and he looks ready to make a massive impact for Wilbraham and Monson. The 6-foot-7 forward isn’t ever moving at a crazy speed or using big time explosiveness, but he’s patient and balanced in the paint, which makes him a very effective offensive player. He has a really nice mid range bag and uses up fakes quite a lot to give himself room for fadeaway jumpers and step through moves. I was also ridiculously impressed with some of the passes he made, many of which came in the air and with multiple defenders draped over him. He has a game well beyond his years that’ll carry him to division 1 hoops, and he’s only going to continue to improve given his IQ.

Fleming is a ridiculously exciting prospect. He’s got exceptional length and size and attempts to block literally everything at the rim. The lefty wing/big is also very controlled offensively and has a pretty-looking shot from both the mid-range and three. Fleming also showed some really nice passing vision out of the high post, even throwing a few look-away dimes. Once he learns to play with a motor 100% of the time, he’s going to be a high D1 recruit.
