With the scholastic live period over and the grassroots live period going on, we thought it would be a good time to look at some specific specialists in different areas. Here's a look at part one of some of the top shooters in the RVA area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1520852' first='Stuart' last='Cosby'] | 6'4” WG | St. Chris 2025

Cosby was a breakout player last year at St. Chris and has continued that this summer on the 3SSB Circuit with Team Push, showing he's one of the top shooters in the entire state. At 6'4” he has good size and a quick release to get his shot off without much space, he has good range off the catch and he doesn't go through long cold streaks with the ability to get hot quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494108' first='Aiden' last='Argabright'] | 6'1” PG | John Marshall 2025

Argabright is a point guard who last year played a lot off the basketball with John Marshall, but that was no worries as he showed he can absolutely light it up from deep. He moves well off the ball to get open and sets his feet quickly, he can come off screens on the ball and knock it down when defenses go under and he can score it in a lot of different ways too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494112' first='Troy' last='Henderson'] | 6'0” PG | John Marshall 2025

Henderson will be playing in the same backcourt as Argabright this season, and that will make them one dangerous duo as they both can absolutely fill it up. Henderson is very shifty and has great footwork on step backs and snatch backs to get into his shot, he can move off the ball where he can get in a rhythm and make shots on the move and it doesn't take him much to get going and make tough shots from all over.

[player_tooltip player_id='2451940' first='John' last='Uzochukwu'] | 6'2” WG | LC Bird 2025

Uzochukwu was a breakout player for a surprising LC Bird team last year, emerging as their top shooter and scorer over the season. The 6'2” wing improved a ton in his ability to get open off the ball and coming off of screens, he has good range that's out past the college line, he stays shot ready on drive-and-kicks and he can attack closeouts and get downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452107' first='Knox' last='Axselle'] | 6'4” WG | Atlee 2025

Axselle is one of the best players in Hanover County and following in the footsteps of his brother who is now at Guilford College who was also a great shooter. Axselle has great size on the wing allowing him to rise up and make shots over late closeouts, he moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly to get his shot off and he can walk defenders down with his hesitation and quick release.

[player_tooltip player_id='2618817' first='Arrie' last='McWilliams'] | 6'2” WG | Hannover 2026

McWilliams is another emerging star in Hanover County as he was a Second Team All Region selection and has made even more strides this summer as well. He's one of the most efficient shooters you'll see as he shot just under 50% from deep last year, he's pretty much automatic when his feet are set on kick-outs and he can create space off the bounce too.
