In its fourth iteration the Huffman Basketball Elite camp was a little smaller than past years. Despite the smaller number than normal. There was still plenty of high level basketball played. Following are five standouts that caught my eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587857' first='Tarren' last='Calvert'] 5-11 2025 Wyoming As the player who traveled the farthest. Calvert played very hard and performed well. The shot wasn't falling at its normal clip. But he showed the intangibles and all around floor game that has driven recent small college interest. Was excellent live dribble passer with both hands all morning. Also showed a nice floater. Played well in the three-on-three portion of the camp. Showing his advanced ability in the two man game. Saved his best for last. Hitting a game winning floater down the left side to wrap up the day. After bouncing around a little at the beginning of the spring. Has settled in nicely with the [program_tooltip program_id='2269794' first='United' last='Persuit'] program. Will be playing with them in Wisconsin during the live period.

[player_tooltip player_id='2058635' first='Carter' last='Kerby'] 5-11 2025 Frankfort Kerby's dribble drive centric game generally excels in elite camp settings. Wednesday's action was no different. Has a deep bag of tricks that he can go to. Helps him get his shot off at will despite not being the biggest prospect. Showed advanced passing ability in drills working in the two man game. Has been showing increased elevation all spring and summer. As a sub 6-foot player. I wouldn't say he plays above the rim. But definitely plays right at it. Coming off a nice spring [program_tooltip program_id='2077029' first='Parallel' last='45'] This player from a very small rural lakeshore school district. Should be one of the top Division IV players in the entire state next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2112170' first='Braeden' last='Flynn'] 5-10 2026 Harbor Springs Like the two point guards above him. Flynn really excelled in the two man game. You could tell he is a coaches son who has grown up around the game. In pick and roll situations, put passes right where it was needed for the roll man. Understood spacing and played with a nice sense of balance. Understandable as he has added plenty of “good” weight since I last him in this type of setting. Last year at the Lake Superior St Elite camp. Could get pushed around at times with a smaller frame. Now with broader shoulders and a wider lower body, that is not going to happen. Was active defensively in passing lanes. Getting a few steals in the scrimmage portion of the camp. Looks to be gearing up to make a leap as he becomes an upperclassman.

[player_tooltip player_id='2110784' first='Mason' last='Gugle'] 6-3 2026 Pine River Not a lot of big men in this years camp. While Gugle isn't a post. Utilized his size and played well. Especially on the defensive end. Walled up properly and with nice verticality. Collecting a hand full of blocked shots. Accordingly, at 6-3 has nice elevation as well. Playing easily above the rim already as a junior. Has perimeter skills and will probably be a wing at the next level. But didn't mess around with that on Wednesday. Attacked the basket with force and sought out mismatches. Has a nice soft touch both at the rim and out into the midrange. “Gym rat” who you can tell works hard on his game. Coming off a standout spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2429901' first='REAL' last='Basketball'] on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Will playing in Chicago during the live period. On the heels of a big sophomore year at the varsity level. Looks primed to break out as an upperclassman.

[player_tooltip player_id='1936947' first='Tristan' last='Demlow'] 5-11 2025 Grayling (pictured) I normally try not to write about a player twice in one week. But when you play as well as Demlow did on Wednesday— my hand is forced. I have long been a fan of this player's game. I have written many times that he is an “old school” pass first point guard. However I might have to amend that. From the Grand Valley Elite camp, to two Prep Hoops events in Indianapolis, to this past Wednesday. Demlow is now a knock down outside shooter. Hasn't forgotten how to pass though. As much of that skill set is innate. Like Flynn (see above) is stocky point guard who is isn't going to get pushed around. High academic player who obviously puts in the work on his game. Like Gugle will be playing in Chicago during the live perks with [program_tooltip program_id='2429901' first='REAL' last='Basketball']
