Michael has a nice mix of size and skill and was a hard player to stop in the paint. He showed off his touch and consistently moved defenders out of his way with his strength. He has an excellent post game and I have seen him make a lot of nice passes out of the post. He is a solid offensive rebounder, and heading into his Senior season, he should be an impactful player.

Watching [player_tooltip player_id='2252298' first='Mathias' last='Lee'] last season, you knew that when he put it all together, he would be a serious problem. This summer, I saw him refine parts of his game, and he looks like one of the best forwards in NOVA public school ball. Westfield has a lot of talent in their rising Junior class, so sometimes Mathias gets fazed out as a scorer. He still makes an impact with his size and athleticism as a roller. He can guard multiple positions and has excellent size. He had a lot of solid performances in the Hammerzone summer league and was a big standout.

Hobbes Fiel has been one of the best guards in the Hammerzone Summer League. Hobbes will take a leap this season and see his name in the rankings. Hobbs is a high-level shooter and a smart basketball player. Because of his size, he is more of a PG, but he can play either guard position. Hobbes looked like a real leader for this Madison team, and he was solid down the stretch of many games.

There might not be a player that looks more improved this summer than West Potomac big man [player_tooltip player_id='2148742' first='Liam' last='Koelsch']. Liam is a complete big. He can score inside the paint in the dunker's spot, out the post, and is a menace on the offensive glass. He can shoot jump shots, and at 6'9, he is a load to deal with. He is becoming a terrific defender as well. Liam had a game where he had a league-high 38 points, and with West Potomac losing a lot of production, I could see Liam putting up massive numbers this season.

I didn't get to watch Jake Bell as much as I wished this summer league, but when I watched him, he was outstanding. I was able to catch Jake's 33-point performance against Fairfax. He showed off his excellent shooting skills, and that is where he usually does his work offensively. McLean loses most of its production, so they will look to Jake for points. He is poised to have an essential role in this team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963398' first='Will' last='Davis'] was solid for Meridian every time I watched him. He is another high-level shooting combo guard and excels in catching and shooting. Will can get his own bucket, hitting floaters and mid-rangers. Will competes on the defensive end and holds his own against bigger guards. Will had a handful of 20-point games and was one of the best guards in the summer league.
