July is a little over a week in and the summer season is just starting off. The 2027 class has the potential to make noise this month, especially at the lead guard position. Here are the 2027 Group 2 guard prospects to watch this month.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201949' first='Ayyub' last='Wilson'], 6'0 PG Arts

Wilson is primed to shoulder a larger role in the Jaguars' offense, which will help his development in a big way. The 6'0 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Wilson has a nice touch on his floater and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. He finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and works hard on the defensive end. Wilson is a heady, lead guard prospect whose ability to run the offense effectively will help his game over the course of his sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202014' first='Rey' last='Weinseimer'], 6'0 PG Manasquan

Weinseimer has the ability to play on and off the ball, making him an intriguing prospect to watch in the class. The 6'0 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. Weinseimer is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish through contact in the paint. He moves the ball without the ball in his hands and slides his feet on the defensive end. Weinseimer is a gritty, guard prospect whose ability to stretch the floor and defend the ball will help his stock in a big way over the next couple of weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201965' first='Hazaiah' last='Barbour'], 5'10 PG Arts

Wilson is not the only Arts' guard to track this July as Barbour has the potential to make noise this month. The 5'10 guard has a quick first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim. Barbour makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and can also score in the mid-range. He is an underrated rebounder and uses his quick hands to generate deflections on the defensive end. Barbour is a speedy guard prospect whose ability to make plays with the ball in his hands will make him one to track over the course of July.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375511' first='Justin' last='Ofori'], 6'1 PG Cinnaminson

Ofori has the potential to breakout this month as he should have the ball in his hands more. The 6'1 guard attacks the basket strong as he finishes well around the basket and is able to draw contact in the paint. Ofori uses his size to see over his defender and is able to find his teammates in the halfcourt. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated defender. Ofori's ability to defend the ball is something that will help his game over the course of his varsity career.

[player_tooltip player_id='2428329' first='Tommy' last='Denvir'], 5'11 SG Delaware Valley

Denvir might be a more undersized off the ball guard, but that won't stop him from having a strong July. The 5'11 guard has a good release on his jumper as he wastes little motion and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. Denvir moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He pushes the ball nicely in transition and is an underrated rebounder. Denvir's ability to shoot the ball from distance is something that will help his stock throughout the summer.
