The 2024 Sizzlin' Summer Shootout continued today in Greenville, South Carolina. It is one of my favorite events of the entire year and has been a June must-stop since before my Prep Hoops days. Day Two's events concluded with two Championship Games as Oceanside Collegiate defeated Greer in the Gold Bracket and Boiling Springs defeated Landrum in the Silver Bracket. Take a look at which five players I was most impressed by on Saturday:

[player_tooltip player_id='1419745' first='Israel' last='Deaver'] caught fire for Greenville this morning. He provided a punch off the bench knocking down 4 straight threes and finishing 6-9 total from behind the arc. Deaver isn't your normal role-playing shooter as the Red Raiders will occasionally run sets to get him open looks from downtown. Israel also holds his own on the defensive end, crashes the boards when needed, and makes the extra pass when closed out hard. His squad has a lot of weapons for the upcoming season but if can prove to shoot it at an efficient rate it will be impossible to keep him off the floor.

Atkins had a monster game for the Bulldog to help them win the Sizzlin' Summer Shootout Silver Bracket Championship. He put up a 20-Point 14-Rebound Double-Double and also added 3 Block. Isaiah was very active on both ends of the floor, working hard before the catch to get the interior position and spark his post game. He looked very polished turning over a shoulder or sealing and spinning into a layup. Atkins also was massive on the offensive glass tallying several second-chance points. Once Landrum started throwing bodies at him in the post, Isaiah also displayed an ability to pass out of the post to find an open teammate.

Like Atkins, Dawson was important to his team's success in a Bracket Championship Game today. Ty'Rek and the Landsharks won their second-straight Sizzlin' Summer Shootout Gold Bracket Championship and he posted 11 Points in the win. He had several clutch buckets down the stretch including an impressive finish through contact to increase the lead to double-digits. Ty'Rek has a smooth game on the offensive end with a good floater and the ability to finish with their hand. Dawson also worked hard on the defensive end as the primary defender on Greer's best player as well as hauling in 8 Rebounds.

Despite the loss in the Gold Bracket Championship Game, Mikey was still solid for Greer on Day 2. He attacked downhill early and often, getting two feet in the paint to finish or kick to an open Yellow Jacket. He was also very aggressive with his hands on the defensive end racking up multiple pick-pocket steals and one "pick six" after reading an attempted pass. Williams had to finish through contact multiple times but had no issues heading to the line to complete the old-fashioned three-point play. Mikey put up 11 Points and also had 4 Assists in the low-scoring affair.

The #2 Prospect in South Carolina's 2025 Class was his usual, dominant, self today in Greenville. He was particularly effective in the second half as his opponents began to wear down with his continued efforts to score in the post. Hayden had to work through multiple bodies every time he caught the ball and showed his strength by finishing through contact on several occasions. Assemian is also a high-level rim protector, using his size and athleticism to reject shots or intimidate opponents from shooting near the basket. He finished with 20 and 10 in the early-morning matchup with the hosts.
