GLENDALE, Ariz. — The annual Section 7 team camp, one of the best live period events in the country, took place over the weekend inside of State Farm Stadium just outside of Phoenix. Many of the top high school teams on the west coast and beyond made their way to Arizona to play in front of droves of college coaches. We were in attendance and below are the California underclass prospects who made a name for themselves.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436266' first='Chris' last='Sanders'] | 2027 | Redondo Union

Sanders had a strong freshman year at Redondo and, by the looks of what he did at Section 7, he's ready to build on that for next season. The 6-foot-3 lefty forward is a physical downhill driver and finisher in transition and half-court offense who can guard multiple positions. Sanders' game and body are reminiscent of former Chino Hills forward Eli Scott who went on to have a good college career at Loyola Marymount.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435366' first='Cole' last='Holden'] | 2027 | Harvard-Westlake

Holden had some really good moments in big games over the weekend. The 6-foot-1 rising sophomore competed on the defensive end, played with great energy on both ends of the floor and showed that he can knock down the open catch-and-shoot three-ball with consistency. Holden, who played mostly on the junior varsity level last season, will be a guy who gets better as his playing time and touches increase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352694' first='Elijah' last='Stanley'] | 2027 | Salesian

Stanley has great feel for playmaking when the ball is in his hands. He's has a slim and wiry frame but his lack of physical strength doesn't take away from his ability to get into the lane where he collapses the defense and is a willing set-up man with the pass. Stanley's quick first step and and open court burst of speed allow him to put consistent pressure on the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436295' first='Godson' last='Eyita'] | 2027 | St. Joseph

Eyita is just scratching the surface of his potential and what stands out most about his game is his natural feel and touch around the basket. The 6-foot-9 rising sophomore has a clear understanding of how to space away from drivers to look for a drop off pass that he can finish with dunk or soft-touched layup. Eyita is a fluid athlete who changes ends of the floor quickly and has a ton of upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436254' first='Jaden' last='Berry'] | 2027 | Corona Centennial

Berry will get plenty of opportunity to play on a young Corona Centennial squad and he might be the team's most reliable and steady point guard/decision-maker. The 6-foot rising sophomore plays with a smooth pace, doesn't get sped up under pressure and is a willing table-setter with high level vision and good passing feel.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435359' first='Jeremiah' last='Profit'] | 2027 | Temecula Valley

Profit has been on the national radar since his eighth grade year and for good reason: he's one of the more polished all-around prospects in the class. The 6-foot-4 wing led his high school team to a CIF Southern Section Division 4AA title as a freshman with his perimeter scoring punch and transition finishing ability. In the game we watched at Section 7, Profit showed that he's adding some playmaking feel to his advanced scoring ability.

Kainoa Patton | 2028 | Corona Centennial

Patton is an intriguing long-term prospect because of his combination of fluid open court athleticism, explosiveness around the basket and ideal basketball frame. The wiry 6-foot-2 guard has effortless vertical leaping ability, a smooth three-point stroke off the catch and flashed some dynamic playmaking in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435373' first='Max' last='Hackney'] | 2027 | Heritage Christian

Hackney is a young prospect with a high basketball IQ and the understanding of how to impact a game by doing the little things. The 6-foot-5 wing is an active offensive rebounder, timely cutter with a pop of athleticism when finishing off of two feet and can stretch the floor with catch-and-shoot three's.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436264' first='Nick' last='Welch, Jr.'] | 2027 | Rolling Hills Prep

Welch is a fast-rising big man who has established himself as a fundamentally sound interior scorer with his back to the basket and a hard-playing rebounder and positional defender. At Section 7, Welch showed that he's looking to add some perimeter scoring to his arsenal as he popped out for a few three's from the top of the key.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435370' first='Pierce' last='Thompson'] | 2027 | Harvard-Westlake

Thompson is a 6-foot-2 combo guard who can strikes a good balance of creating shots for himself and teammates. The rising sophomore has a smooth feel for the game and his fluid athleticism makes difficult moves and finishes look easy. Thompson's wiry frame and high basketball IQ make him a young prospect to track at the Division I level.
