The 2024 South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Live Team Camp took place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in North Augusta, South Carolina at the Riverview Park Activities Center. Over 120 High School programs from the Palmetto State were in attendance at some point throughout the weekend, so this was one of the most important stops of the Prep Hoops SC Calendar. Check out these eight prospects from the 2027 Class who stood out to me this weekend:
Justin Vining
Justin
Vining
5'9" | PG
Fox Creek | 2027
SC
is the first name up on my 2027 Standouts list. He was extremely efficient from the jump of Fox Creeks’ matchup with Gilbert and racked up several early buckets and assists. Justin is a Point Guard who is a great passer and handles the ball very well. He can be trusted to run an offense with limited turnovers and wasted possessions. On the defensive end, his quickness and intelligence allow him to read and react to what opponents are doing and force turnovers, tallying 2 Steals. Vining also had 5 Assists in the win over the Indians and with his team getting up by so much so early, he was rested for the majority of the second half.

Josh is our top prospect in the 2027 Class and has the potential to be one of the best South Carolina has had in recent years, so it would be hard to watch him and leave him off a list like this. He is almost overwhelming from a size and athleticism standpoint and is capable of doing everything on the basketball court. The shooting has improved tremendously and is now closer to a strength than a weakness. He also can get downhill and finish through contact with the best of them. There were multiple College Coaches courtside whenever Leonard was playing, and he received his 3rd D1 offer from Nicholls State this weekend.

I checked in with J’Sean and the Grizzlies early on Saturday Morning at North Augusta High School. They had a couple of important pieces depart after last season, so Sanders will be the guy for High Point Academy this season. He was used frequently as the screener in pick-and-roll actions and the offense had lots of success with it. He is also a good passer when he catches the ball in the post and will pick teams apart if they double him. On the defensive end, his length affects shots and he blocked two of them in a matchup with Denmark-Olar. Sanders could use some more muscle on his frame to help finish stronger and keep opposing bigs out of the paint.

Jenkins is one of my favorite prospects in this class and one I was excited to watch this weekend. He makes an impact on both ends of the floor with his length and athleticism. I was particularly impressed with his work on the defensive end, as he was matched up with one of the best PGs in the State and played him extremely well for most of the game. He moves his feet very well and his size helps him cause chaos on opposing ball handlers, but he is versatile and can guard bigs as well. He had some nice moments on the offensive end, working on the glass and finishing through contact. Kmajay went for 8 Points, 11 Rebounds, and 3 Steals in a win over Catawba Ridge.
Highlights
Tyzai was a bright spot for Gilbert in their loss to Fox Creek on Saturday Evening. He was at his best in the open floor, causing turnovers or rebounding and pushing the pace to beat players to the rim. He has good speed, a tight handle, and finishes well at the rim. Smith can do so with either hand and is pretty crafty when it comes to scoring around the trees. He also does not shy away from contact and earned a couple of trips to the free-throw line. He put up 14 Points in the loss but didn’t play much in the second half because of the scoreline.

Isaiah Thomas

Thomas

Catawba Ridge | 2027
SC
was a new name for me this weekend but I was really impressed with what he showed on the court. He had a very good game in matchup with Westside, going for 19 Points with 3 3PM. He was primarily used off the ball and is a spot-up shooter that you must stay attached to. However, if you close out too hard he does have the skill to make plays off the dribble. Isaiah showed an ability to pull up in the mid-range or kick the ball back outside. Thomas will also crash the boards on the defensive end and chipped in with 5 Rebounds.

Samajae Govan
Samajae Govan
Govan is an intriguing prospect from the Columbia area in the 2027 Class. He was used in both positions in the backcourt for Dutch Fork throughout the weekend and excelled in both due to his athleticism, ability to playmaker, and shooting. He is a very creative finisher around the rim and can go around or over defenders in the air. Samajae also has a good handle and reads the game well. On the defensive end, he has good hands and will pick the pockets of opposing ball handlers.
![Ashtin Feemster](https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/06/Image-6-25-24-at-10.06-AM-3.jpeg)
Ashtin Feemster
Ashtin Feemster
Ashtin had a larger role this weekend than expected due to some temporary absences with the Blue Eagles. He is a small but quick guard who creates well off the dribble. Feemster is also a very crafty finisher around the rim and is a dependable shooter from the outside. He rebounds well for a guard and will occasionally force a turnover on the offensive end. In a matchup with Lower Richland, Ashtin put up 11 Points, 5 Rebounds, 3 Assists, and 2 Steals.
