Fountain Inn Keeps the Flame Hot:

The Fountain Inn HS Flame had a solid showing here today at the Phenom Champion High School Team Camp. The Flame bring back a veteran squad led by 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1239535' first='Amaziah' last='Austin'] down in the paint. Austin was active on both ends with his play. Amaziah can be a tough matchup with his quick feet and athleticism to get by bigger post. He was able to handle the rock up the floor at times today and step-out to 15 feet and knockdown the open jumper. Amaziah was quick to fill the lane in transition and race to the basket or to the blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2299081' first='Terry' last='Cunningham'] came out stroking the rock from the corners. Cunningham connected on several three-pointers while we were in attendance. Terry has a quick shot release and at times today he connected on some short mid-range jumpers along the baseline.

[player_tooltip player_id='1888608' first='Marlon' last='Lewis'] is a bouncy rim runner for the Flame in the middle. The slender-sleek Lewis has a long wingspan who has no problems covering a lot of ground on each end of the floor.

Quick As a Hiccup:

[player_tooltip player_id='2443448' first='Devin' last='Agard'] was living in the paint all day long for the Clover HS Eagles today. Agard is a bit of a menace on the defensive end of the floor and on the offensive end he is quick as a hiccup. He really looks to play the game at 94 feet while getting the ball into the gaps and in paint all night long. Devin has that next gear to race by defenders in the open court. He connected on some short mid-range jumpers here today when needed. Devin makes the Eagles offense and defense go at all times.

Agard will certainly make a debut in the next set of rankings after watching his play again today. Prep Hoops saw him play back in the spring with Team Hustle on the Grassroots Circuit.

Tigers Will Rely on Leonard and Thompson:

The Wilson HS Tigers have a new head coach in Yusuf English. The Tigers will rely on [player_tooltip player_id='1486211' first='Josh' last='Leonard'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1149789' first='Tristan' last='Thompson'] to the lead the way. Leonard the #1 player in the 2027 Palmetto State Class brings so much skill to the floor with his game. Josh literally can play all over the floor from being the point guard or simply posting up the block. Josh plays well beyond his years with his maturity on the court. Leonard finished at the rim on a regular basis today with both hands and played extremely active in the passing lanes.

Thompson a senior to be this season is another Top 10 player in the Palmetto State. Tristan will stuff the stat sheet every night when it comes to scoring, rebounding, passing or simply picking up a steal. Tristan scored the ball from all 3 levels here today with his play. He brings tremendous versatility just like Leonard to the hardwood when he to can play almost any position when called upon.

This duo will look to lead the Wilson HS Tigers this coming season.

SCISA Players:

Who were some SCISA players that stood out here today while Prep Hoops was in attendance? [player_tooltip player_id='1383660' first='Elton' last='Smith Jr'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1220039' first='Amarii' last='King'] played solid for the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. [player_tooltip player_id='1559447' first='Hilton' last='Dessausure'] and Jaylen Weaver both led the way for the Northside Christian Crusaders.

Smith Jr. brings good bounce and versatility to the floor. Elton can play above the rim and shows at times to play inside-out on the floor. Smith Jr is an extremely quick leaper who can change a game on the defensive end with his footwork in a matter of seconds. Elton covers the floor in just a matter of a few strides it seems.

King a physical guard shines on the hardwood and the football field in the fall. Amarii has the ability to overpower defenders on the way to the cup or simply pull-up and knockdown the jumper.

Dessausure started his career at Cardinal Newman before heading over to Northside Christian a season ago. Hilton a left-handed guard was able to finish at the rim today in transition. He tends to have a nice stroke from the perimeter and will simply look to lead the Crusaders this season in the SCISA ranks.

Weaver was a nice addition to the roster this season for the Crusaders. Jaylen was able to slash to the rack today and really liked playing the game in transition.

New Faces in New Places:

Who were some new players on the move we noticed today? [player_tooltip player_id='1848085' first='Mark' last='Caslaru'] is no longer at Nation Ford HS. Caslaru is now attending Catawba Ridge HS. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1848086' first='Jaden' last='Hayden-Barber'] is no longer at South Pointe HS. Jaden attends York Prep now. Jaden does a nice job of changing speeds and playing at a good pace while on the floor for the Patriots.
