Austin has a quick set feet around the paint area to be a bit of a nuisance at times with his play. Amaziah is a TWEENER on the floor at times with his play. He can handle the rock at times or simply finishing around the bucket. Austin can be a tough matchup at times with his versatility on the floor. He plays bigger than his size it seems for the Flame.

Austin is the #1 Big for Upward Stars Upstate and had a nice showing despite a slow start. He had some struggles finishing around the rim on his first few attempts but bounced back with flashes of dominance in the second half en route to a 20-Point 15-Rebound Double-Double. One thing that will never lessen with AJ is his motor. He works extremely hard on both ends of the floor possession after possession and impacts winning due to that attribute. Austin is also strong and athletic which helps him on the glass on both ends of the floor and with rim protection. One of AJ’s go-to moves on the offensive end is a spin move which he uses to get around his matchup on the drive or out of the post.

Austin has always been an intriguing prospect in my opinion, so it was good to see him back with his high school squad this weekend. He is a big with a good body and tremendous athleticism that puts in work on both ends of the floor. He works hard for position in the post and has a solid post-game or can be effective in the pick-and-roll. Austin will be aggressive on the defensive end whether his shots are falling or not and is a strong rebounder and rim protector. He also had a couple of high-flying dunks in transition. Austin went for 12 Points and 7 Rebounds in a loss to Oceanside Collegiate on Friday.

Austin has a very impressive blend of size and athleticism, making him a very important piece in the Upward Stars Upstate system. While he is very solid on the offense end, it was his rim protection that stood out to me watching their matchup with Fountain Inn Kings on Saturday Night in Spartanburg. He had 4 blocks – several with emphasis. When they stay in play, he does a great job of finding the loose ball or running the floor in transition. Even when the shots aren’t falling, Austin is always a hard worker and continues to impact the game.

, who is ranked at #61 in Prep Hoops SC 2025 Ranking. Austin is a physical beast in Class AAA and a nightmare for most teams to gameplan for. He makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor scoring in the paint, protecting the rim, and owning the glass due to his size and athleticism. Amaziah also had a very good Grassroots Season with 1SC Elite, who was one of the more successful Independent Teams in the State.
