The defending state champions were busy at work with marquee matchups all day. Friery stood out in a game against Reynoldsburg where his shot making was on full display. Friery knocked down three or four 3-pointers in the second half alone to bring a shorthanded Wildcats squad back into the game. After graduating some key front-court pieces, Friery is going to be relied upon to be consistent with production every night and his scoring is needed this year instead of just being a luxury. With the pace and space Saint Ignatius plays with, Friery should get a lot of open looks from 3-point range this season and is capable of lighting it up from downtown. One of the top long term prospects in Ohio's 2025 class, Friery is hearing from schools at the mid and high major level.

Olentangy Orange was another squad that was limited due to absences and injuries, but Brown had a big time end to a back and forth battle with Bishop Hartley. Hartley did an excellent job of trapping Brown and making him give up the ball early. Brown obliged by beating the traps with the pass and gave his teammates chances to score in advantageous situations. When it came down to closing time, Brown made some key shots off the dribble including two tough buckets in the final minutes to steal a win. When fully loaded, Olentangy Orange projects to be one of the top teams in central Ohio once again this season. They've made it to the regional championship back-to-back years, could Brown be the one to help them break through and make it to Dayton?

I didn't get the chance to see Foster during the spring so I was excited to catch him in June with his high school program once again. He didn't disappoint with a big scoring game Vs Teays Valley. Foster's signature play was a step-back 3-pointer and-1 that was filthy. Besides that play, Foster was scoring at the rim with both hands including a right-handed tip in. At the rim, Foster is much more efficient shooting off two feet than just going off one. After graduating Kaden Haywood, there is no question this is Foster's team as a senior as he'll look to continue the positive momentum Dublin Scioto built last winter.

North Canton Hoover came out firing Vs Pickerington Central with a scorching first half from the field. I was most impressed with Oster's ability to stretch the floor from the power forward position. North Canton Hoover runs a pass-oriented offense with decision making, perimeter shooting and off-ball movement being prioritized. Oster is a perfect fit as he's able to stretch the defense with the shot while also able to use his size to finish at the rim during occasional pick and roll sets with his guards. After a strong season last winter, North Canton Hoover returns basically their entire core and should be one of the top teams in the federal league once again.

Upper Arlington has a nice group of prospects with a majority of their talent in the 2026 and 2027 classes. That doesn't mean we don't want to spotlight Gregg from their 2025 class. In an early morning game Vs Walnut Ridge, Gregg was physical in the paint despite being undersized for his position. A forward who understands how to use his body to create separation, Gregg used jump stops to stay on balance and finish through contact off two feet. I also was impressed with Gregg's ability to make the pass to the open man on time, showing his high IQ for the game. A glue piece who will help you win high school games, Gregg was productive for the Golden Bears on Thursday.
