NHR State: The D2 17u All Tournament Team
The top players from the division two level of the NHR State Tournament which was won by Showtime Elite.
Malik Akindele of the Minnesota Grizzlies. Malik is a 6'3 wing from St Louis Park that has been a key figure for the Grizzlies all season. This past weekend Malik was at his best leading the Grizzlies to the final four of the 17u level of play. Malik and Jaden McMahan of Tartan led the way for three weekend wins in five games.
Maxwell Muhl of Top 1 Select. The Michigan kids won three of four games and they gave Showtime Elite (the champs) their top test of the weekend led by Maxwell Muhl. Muhl scored 93 points across the weekend and he is a 2026 playing up! Muhl was on fire hitting 22 three pointers this weekend and all of his foul shots.
Blaine Nash of Showtime Elite. After scoring ten a game this past year for a good Rochester Century team, Nash is a post grad player on Showtime Elite that had an outstanding weekend. He scored 30, 25, 28, 25, 26, and 27 points across the five games that led to Showtime winning the weekend championship. Blaine was the MVP of this level of the 17u NHR State Tournament.
Austin Omondi Austin Omondi MN of Showtime Elite. Austin is a big guard/wing that played on one of the Oak Hill teams this past year before graduating this spring. Hamline has been recruiting him plus he has received opportunities to play for Ashby and Wilmington. Austin is a big framed athletic forward that was one of the more explosive players in the event.
Johanes Picikas of Minnesota Select . Picikas was a Panther JV player from last season that seems like a good candidate to be the next JV to Varsity Lakeville North senior that surprises as a contributor. He's a 6'3 guard that we've seen play well at camps before and this past weekend he led Select to the third place finish at NHR State.
Dwuan Reliford Dwuan Reliford 6'1" | SG Mankato East | 2025 State MN of Minnesota Nice. Nice pushed their way to the 17u D2 championship game with Reliford being a two way contributor. The Mankato East guard came off the bench this past winter for a team that finished second in state and this past weekend was a main figure on a team that pushed their way to a title game appearance.
