However, on back-to-back weekends, the IBCA has really knocked it out of the park with the annual Charlie Hughes Showcase and the Top 100 Showcase. With both weekends now being live evaluation periods for Division I coaches, there have been a lot of eyes on prospects from the Hoosier state. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground at Ben Davis High School on Friday covering many of the top 2025, 2026, and 2027 prospects in the state. Here are some of the top performers from Session II of the event.
Barnes had it cooking from beyond the arc on Friday evening. Whether it was off of the catch when the ball was swung to him or simply pulling up off of the dribble behind a ballscreen or coming down the floor in transition, Barnes knocked in several three-point shots. His ability to pair that shooting ability with what he can do as an explosive athlete off of the dribble is why Division I programs will continue to track him closely through the month of July. He currently holds offers from Illinois State, IU-Indianapolis, Le Moyne, and Western Michigan.
Edwards was one of the top stock-risers at the Charlie Hughes Showcase last weekend playing his way into interest from essentially every level of college basketball. He continued his strong play at Session II of the IBCA Top 100 Showcase shooting the lights out from three-point range just like he did last weekend. At 6’5″ with good athleticism, his shooting ability and positional size really stand out. College coaches from low-major Division I, to Division II, to NAIA will want to watch him closely in the month of July.
Between last weekend’s Charlie Hughes Showcase and Friday’s IBCA Top 100 Showcase, multiple conversations have been had with Division I coaches regarding this prospect from Gary 21st Century. The 6’2″ guard has been shooting it very well from three-point range while displaying some real athleticism getting to the rim off of the dribble. He projects as a long, athletic, two-way wing that continues to garner more and more attention heading into the month of July.
Everyone knows that this Fishers High School rising senior is one of the best athletes in the state of Indiana. However, his elite athleticism seems to almost cause what else he can do on the floor to be underrated. Kirby had a poster-worthy dunk on Friday, which isn’t really anything new for him, and blocked a couple of shots as he normally does on the defensive end. Whether he is making catch-and-shoot threes, driving it right against a closeout, or flying above the rim in transition he has proven himself as a very intriguing prospect heading into July.
One of just a handful of Class of 2027 prospects to be invited to the IBCA Top 100 Showcase, Lampley proved himself as one of the top rising sophomores in the state of Indiana. He got red hot for a stretch in Session II making several three-point shots, both from the catch and off of the dribble while finishing a couple around the basket as well. There is no denying his offensive talent. Lampley’s guard-like skill as a bigger guard/wing is really impressive at his age.
Highlights
One of the top prospects in the state of Indiana, Robinson did what he does best on Friday at Session II of the IBCA Top 100 Showcase. He is so explosive off of the dribble showcasing a unique combination of speed and strength that he uses to consistently get to the rim. Robinson also shot the ball well from beyond the arc on Friday. When he is making shots from deep it really pressures the defense to guard him out beyond the arc which really opens up his driving ability. He is a very good on-ball defender as well.
One of the real stars from Session II of the IBCA Top 100 Showcase, Townsend played his way into an offer from Eastern Illinois after an excellent showing. Well known for his strong built at 6’6″ and physicality off of the dribble, Townsend also really shoots the ball well from beyond the arc and in the mid-range which he had working on Friday. His ability to make jump shots at his size makes it really difficult for opposing defenses to match up. Definitely one that low and mid-major programs should continue to watch closely throughout the month of July.
After committing, alongside his twin from Drelyn, to Central Michigan on Thursday, Truesdale played very well in front of his future head coach Tony Barbee on Friday evening at Session II of the IBCA Top 100 Showcase. His elite length and athleticism was on full display with several excellent drives to the basket with tough finishes. The 6’3″ guard from Bishop Luers High School was finishing with both hands up around the rim while also consistently disrupting things in the passing lanes defensively.
